June 10, 20205 yr I was so close to putting 'Stuck With U' but thought people would gravitate towards a typical charity group effort more :( at least someone else put 'Teardrop' Btw late thought but I guess Beyoncé has had a top 40 hit from the 90s to the 20s if you include Destiny's Child and 'Savage'!
June 10, 20205 yr Author 8. Name an artist who has at least one UK #1 album, but their highest selling album did not reach #1. 4Rg3sAb8Id8 k2qgadSvNyU 4 Christina Aguilera // chrissmith276, vibe, girlsaloudjunkie, Scene, Lee_J11 4 Dua Lipa // Bjork, M4NGO, dan-G, Riser, RobBot 3 Justin Bieber // Bré, jimwatts, West, PeteFromLeeds 2 Ariana Grande // awardinary, Josh!, Dobbo 2 Meat Loaf // Viper*, MrAndrewMan, StoneDragon 2 Pink Floyd // paulgilb, King Rollo, Jade 1 Beyoncé // n4yr, Dan17F1 1 One Direction // Jáhq, JosephStyles 0 All Saints // dj_tim_e 0 Gerry Cinnamon // LewisGT 0 Imagine Dragons // xajnipi 0 Kanye West // Klumzee 0 Nicki Minaj // *Callum 0 P!nk // Jordan Lee This is another very spread out question and the only one which has a joint top answer - though as with question 3 those top answers are worth a mere 4 points. First we have Christina Aguilera, who didn't cross my mind at all but it does indeed appear that her best-selling album is the #2 peaking 'Stripped' while she got to #1 with two of her other albums. Then we have Dua Lipa who I did consider but thought it's maybe a bit premature - of course so far her #3 peaking self-titled debut currently has a higher sales total than the #1 follow-up 'Future Nostalgia' but we'll see how that stacks up a few years into the future  My own answer of Justin Bieber comes in just behind with 3 points - his chart history is a little misleading as while 'My World' and 'Purpose' only peaked at #3 and #2 respectively, they both have much, much higher sales totals than both of his #1 albums (I believe x). There's a solid handful of other answers worth a point or two - Ariana Grande has three #1 albums to her name now but none have yet outsold #3 peaking 'My Everything', while I am assuming that Meat Loaf and Pink Floyd's best selling albums are by far and away 'Bat Out Of Hell' and 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' respectively despite peaking at #9 (!) and #2 while each act has multiple #1 albums. All three of those are worth 2 points. Then there's Beyoncé who has three #1s but assuming her top seller is 'I Am... Sasha Fierce' which peaked at #2, and One Direction who I'll trust Joseph is correct about - all of their albums got to #1 except for the debut 'Up All Night' which peaked at #2 and I guess must still be their highest selling album. They are both worth 1 point. I won't comment on the non-scoring answers to save some time but I'm going to confess that I'm not sure if all of these are right - I don't think any of them look obviously wrong, they certainly all have #1 albums and high selling non #1 albums, but it's too much effort to verify them for sure (would appreciate if anyone has the intel to name and shame if anyone got this wrong).
June 10, 20205 yr #2 album 'The Dark Side Of The Moon' is one of the best selling albums ever :drama: should've known that wouldn't be BuzzJack friendly enough. (oops at me snubbing Ariana again)
June 10, 20205 yr Dark Side Of The Moon is the first album on the best sellers list (in 7th place) not to reach number 1 so I chose Pink Floyd for that one based on that logic.
June 10, 20205 yr Xtina is an all time fave of mine but really didn’t expect her to top that poll for biggest selling album not being a #1 despite having 2 #1s (or more). I was torn between P!nk and Ariana and ended up going with P!nk. Glad I wasn’t the only one to put Saturdays for the charity release question though. I remember the chart battle of that week and it looking like it was gonna go their way until Flo Rida blocked them  it then followed The Sats multiple times that they’d be midweek number one until chart day! Bless them at least they got a chart topper in the end!
June 10, 20205 yr Author 9. Name a song which reached the top 40 in the UK for the first time after the artist's death (having been released during their lifetime). nMO5Ko_77Hk 7 Amy Winehouse - Love Is A Losing Game // girlsaloudjunkie, Scene, Jordan Lee, dan-G, jimwatts, Lee_J11, Viper*, Klumzee 5 Viola Beach - Swings & Waterslides // *Callum, Jáhq, n4yr, LewisGT, Jade, StoneDragon 4 Freddie Mercury - Living On My Own // awardinary, xajnipi, vibe, Bjork, dj_tim_e 2 Pop Smoke - Dior // Bré, Riser, PeteFromLeeds 2 XXXTENTACION - changes // chrissmith276, JosephStyles, RobBot 1 Elvis Presley - Way Down // paulgilb, M4NGO 1 Jeff Buckley - Hallelujah // King Rollo, West 0 Eva Cassidy - Over The Rainbow // Josh! 0 Frankie Knuckles - Your Love // Dobbo 0 XXXTENTACION - SAD! // Dan17F1 0 [no answer] // MrAndrewMan Here's a top answer I missed that I really shouldn't have - of course following the sad premature passing of Amy Winehouse, the injustice of the gorgeous 'Love Is A Losing Game', one of my favourite songs of hers, missing the top 40 was posthumously corrected as its peak improved from #46 to #33. That is worth 7 points. Slightly behind on 5 points are Viola Beach who tragically didn't see any chart success during their lifetime but raced to #11 with 'Swings & Waterslides' following the shocking news of the entire band passing away in a car accident. There's also a solid 4 points for Freddie Mercury's 'Living On My Own' which was a blip on the charts on its original release, peaking at just #50, but later became a #1 following a posthumous re-release. Four more answers are worth a point or two. I opted for the most recent correct answer, Pop Smoke's 'Dior' which gave the rapper his first UK top 40 appearance reaching #33 earlier this year after his murder at the tragically young age of 20, having not charted during his lifetime. That's worth 2 points, as is another song by a rapper also murdered at age 20, the ever controversial XXXTENTACION who took 'changes' into the chart at #22 in the wake of his death after originally peaking at #71. There's also a point each for 'Way Down' by Elvis Presley, released very shortly before his death and initially looking like it might stall outside the top 40 but quickly zooming to the #1 spot posthumously, and Jeff Buckley's version of Leonard Cohen's 'Hallelujah' which did not chart during his lifetime but got a well deserved #2 peak in the Christmas chart of 2008, beaten to the #1 spot only by the soul-destroying mangling of the same song by X Factor winner Alexandra Burke. There's only one other correct answer here but it scores no points - nonetheless, a brilliant song named by Dobbo, as Frankie Knuckles' house classic 'Your Love' initially charted at just #59 but got to #29 in the immediate wake of his passing. MrAndrewMan passed on finding an answer for this question as well, while Josh! and Dan17F1 had a crack but both have incorrect answers, as Eva Cassidy's 'Over The Rainbow' is still to this day not a top 40 hit (peaking at #42) and while XXXTENTACION's 'SAD!' did hit a new peak after his death, it was already a top 40 hit prior to that.
June 10, 20205 yr I’m shocked I managed top answer with Amy Winehouse there! Just bc of the peak more than anything it was the first to come to mind but I felt like I missed a really obvious #1 or long running top ten or something!
June 10, 20205 yr Omg I checked for Amy Winehouse and thought that 'Love Is A Losing Game' had made the top 40 anyway, was definitely rushing :drama: Glad Viola Beach was still good enough for 2nd at least.

June 10, 20205 yr Amy's best song for me  Good to see a spread of answers on so many questions!
June 10, 20205 yr I didn’t think VB would qualify as it didn’t chart when the band were alive. Edited June 10, 20205 yr by vibe
June 10, 20205 yr Did viola beach release the song before they died ? Or was it after ? It was released the year before the tragedy
June 10, 20205 yr It was released the year before the tragedy Thanks Jade and then again when they died ?
June 10, 20205 yr Just caught up with all the answers so far, some great answers given by many which I neglected to recall, and annoyed with myself for naming Meduza (correctly) as a European act with a Top 40 this year.
June 10, 20205 yr Thanks Jade and then again when they died ? I don't think it was re-released per-sé, just downloaded/streamed en masse after the news broke. Their debut album was release posthumously though iirc
June 10, 20205 yr Been otherwise occupied tonight so just catching up on these results... kinda wish I hadn't though, I'm doing about as badly as I thought I would  I'm just relying on my host compensation points to keep me somewhere near the top of the leaderboard lol.
June 10, 20205 yr Author 10. Name two artists that BuzzJack would complain endlessly about if they made a song together. pUInX4QimhM 11+1+5 = 17 Drake & Ed Sheeran // Bré, Jordan Lee, jimwatts, n4yr, Lee_J11, Riser, LewisGT, JosephStyles, Jade, PeteFromLeeds, StoneDragon, RobBot 2+2+9.5 = 13.5 Anne-Marie & Ed Sheeran // chrissmith276, dan-G, Dan17F1 4+8.5+0 = 12.5 Ed Sheeran & Lewis Capaldi // *Callum, girlsaloudjunkie, Bjork, King Rollo, M4NGO 0+10.5+1.5 = 12 Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber // Viper* 0+0+10.5 = 10.5 6ix9ine & Ed Sheeran // xajnipi 1+6+0.5 = 7.5 Drake & Justin Bieber // Scene, Dobbo 1+2.5+1 = 4.5 Anne-Marie & Jessie J // awardinary, West 1+2.5+0.5 = 4 Anne-Marie & Jess Glynne // Klumzee, MrAndrewMan 0+1+1.5 = 2.5 Jess Glynne & Jessie J // Josh! 0+1.5+0.5 = 2 Justin Bieber & Madonna // dj_tim_e 0+1.5+0 = 1.5 Jessie J & Sam Smith // Jáhq 0+0+0.5 = 0.5 Ariana Grande & Madonna // vibe 0+0+0 = 0 Little Mix & XXXTENTACION // paulgilb And finally we have this convoluted mess, I hope this isn't entirely impossible to follow - for example, Drake & Ed Sheeran get 11 points for 12 people answering Drake & Ed Sheeran, an additional 1 point for 2 people giving other Drake & someone else answers, and an additional 5 points for 10 people giving other Ed Sheeran & someone else answers. If I've made a mathematical error anywhere in this thread it's probably here so if anyone is bored enough to triple check my counting please go ahead  Answers combining Ed Sheeran with some other hated artist are unsurprisingly very popular, to the point where the bonus half points for the answer 6ix9ine & Ed Sheeran are enough for that to be higher than any answer not involving Ed Sheeran, despite no one else naming 6ix9ine at all. 22 out of 33 answers named Ed Sheeran, with 12 of those pairing him with Drake. Of course Ed and Drake have been perhaps the 2 most omnipresent artists everyone loves to moan about on this forum so a potential collab between them would definitely not be received too kindly. I think that sounds like something I'd probably like though. x Other much maligned artists Anne-Marie, Jess Glynne, Jessie J and Justin Bieber were named in a couple of different combinations and Madonna was also paired with two different artists for some reason. Lewis Capaldi was only named in conjunction with the Sheeran (so we apparently wouldn't mind him collaborating with anyone else!) We also have token namedrops for Sam Smith and for some reason Ariana Grande, and it's sad times for paulgilb as he took a slightly different route to everyone else as he paired the much loved Little Mix with the much hated XXXTENTACION and gets 0 points out of it as no one else named either. The bonus points mostly don't make a huge difference to the order of these aside from the aforementioned large boost for '6ix9ine & Ed Sheeran' (as well as 'Ed Sheeran & Justin Bieber') which would otherwise have not scored any points, but worth noting that while Sheeran & Capaldi was the second most popular duo, it finishes behind Anne-Marie & Sheeran because of more people naming different theoretical Anne-Marie collabs.
June 10, 20205 yr I can’t believe I kept my answer as Ed Sheeran & Drake all week and then at the last minute asked Bré to change to Anne-Marie & Jessie J. :o Bré must have fallen off his chair in hysterics when I did that!
June 10, 20205 yr Why would Buzzjack have a meltdown if Ariana & Madonna collaborated on a song?
