June 15, 20206 yr Kodaline definitely still have more of an audience than Example, especially album buyers Yeah I'm not denying that, but you don't need many sales to get a midweek top 100 and I'm just shocked that he couldn't even do that. His last proper studio album went Top 10, granted that was 6 years ago and the hits have dried up since then but he hasn't exactly become an unknown.
June 15, 20206 yr Example's so far under the radar these days that it would surprise me if he could even command 100 album sales.

Ah sorry I agree with you, it was aimed at Bjork's comparison (should've quoted! :P)
June 15, 20206 yr Example is pretty much in a similar position to Labrinth who also didn't manage to even get a midweek top 100 position with his most recent album.
June 15, 20206 yr Example's so far under the radar these days that it would surprise me if he could even command 100 album sales. I wouldn't say he's under the radar, he's still fairly active on social media and has 1.7m followers, surely they could get him 100 sales?
June 15, 20206 yr In the update of the iTunes album chart WhoOdyssey posted on Friday his album was at #117. I think that tells you all you need to know about how many people there are left who'd purchase an Example album.
June 15, 20206 yr Kodaline's drop in popularity does surprise me. They went from having a gold selling sophomore album with 2x top 40 singles to a third album which spent 1 week in the top 100 and no hits. Yes there was a 3 year gap, but still, that's a sharp drop. Did they get any radio support for their third effort?
June 15, 20206 yr To hell with Example is Wiley not in the top 100!? Great to see Liam Gallaghers live album selling so well! Edited June 15, 20206 yr by Steve201
June 15, 20206 yr To hell with Example is Wiley not in the top 100!? Wiley's album that came out on the 5th June? :P It charted at #107 last Friday.
June 15, 20206 yr Oh it was on the Apple Music new releases for me this week, thoroughly enjoyed the godfather of rap being back anyway - 107 ain't the best position is it? Thanks Joseph!
June 15, 20206 yr Wiley probably lost a few fans from the recent Stormzy beef although 'Godfather II' from 2018 didn't do all that well either charting at #58.
June 16, 20206 yr Example is pretty much in a similar position to Labrinth who also didn't manage to even get a midweek top 100 position with his most recent album.I wasn't even aware Labrinth has a most recent album, that completely passed me by! :o
June 16, 20206 yr Example is pretty much in a similar position to Labrinth who also didn't manage to even get a midweek top 100 position with his most recent album. Labrinth has done quite well off the back of Euphoria, so he has that.
June 16, 20206 yr I wasn't even aware Labrinth has a most recent album, that completely passed me by! :o Add MØ and MNEK to this list of people who really should have enough fans to get a T100 album, but couldn’t manage to do so :(
June 16, 20206 yr I can't say for certain, but I'm pretty sure they are. It's up around 30k on Spotify over the first three days compared to the same period last week. Streams were so low last week due to the poor weather. I find it odd that poor weather reduced streaming, given COVID I'd have thought people would have stayed in and listened to music more? Although I guess you'd just Netflix and chill on a rainy day. Gaga looks like she might stabilise this week around 8-10k which will be good if it continues to remain around this level for a few weeks. If nothing big comes out next week she may climb back to no1 again.
June 16, 20206 yr Next week from what I can see the only new #1 contender is Bob Dylan. The CD is out this week, but not the vinyl - though I think he still has a good chance.
June 16, 20206 yr Wow just looking at these comments I had no idea about Example and Labrinth releasing music recently. Labrinth last I knew was in a band with Sia and Diplo  I really need to get more aware! Usually this site is a way I find loads of music what’s not necessarily charting high (or at all) as well.
