I noticed that happens a few times in the video; certainly helped me experience the video in a way I hadn't before. In fact, I don't think I ever watched closely enough to notice her levitating half way through. Today is actually the 23rd anniversary of 'Frozen', so this is a wonderful birthday gift. Also, I love your analysis of the 'Ray of Light' album! I think I agree with pretty much everything there. The title song is my earliest Madonna memory too, particularly the video as you mention. That image of Madonna is the one that first comes to mind if I picture her in my head. Your picks for bottom 2 are the same for me but for the same reason that they're the ones I return to least; they're definitely essential to the album journey.

Even got the Extended Club Mix Edit appearing at #141 on the songs chart - don't recall any individual remix getting anywhere as high. Are these single remix EPs just coming at random? It's great that there's effort being made to include more of her catalogue on digital platforms. The videos and remix EPs are released to mark their anniversaries, although it's anyone's guess as to which anniversaries will be marked. I think the end goal is to have all the remix EPs uploaded and hopefully the same can be done with the videos, however it's harder for the older videos (see 'Material Girl') as I think it depends on whether they can go back to the original film or have to just enhance the existing video.
March 12, 20214 yr I think the Widescreen Mix is best. There's parts that stay faithful to the original but then there's really interesting, atmospheric sounds explored throughout. All the mixes are worth a listen though; I liked them all.

August 25, 20213 yr Author AF idol has made me return to this album and love it perhaps even more than I did before. I mean, it's my favourite 90s album/second favourite Madonna album/in my top 5 albums of all time, but who knew I could love it even more with further listens? :wub:
August 26, 20213 yr I was forced by Bal to join him in listening to this also had a listen to this with Bal, Jade & Joseph last night after really enjoying 'Sky Fits Heaven' in AF Idol (+ Jade singing the praises of this album for some time :magic:) and my main takeaway is OOFT @ 'Skin' <3 instantly stanning that song more even than 4/5 of the singles. 'Little Star' and 'Shanti / Ashtangi' (sounded like some proto-psytrance) were standout album tracks as well, along with 'Sky Fits Heaven' as I already knew. Also 'Frozen' remains one of the best songs of all time obvs

I've always cited 'Confessions' as my favourite album with 'Ray of Light' a very close second, but I'm starting to think this has overtaken! February 24, 20232 yr A 3 track "work in progress" CD has leaked - 'Candy Perfume Girl' and 'Drowned World' are more or less how they sound in the final version but this version of 'Sky Fits Heaven' is the Patrick Leonard demo with early Orbit production: BDuEV82FYGY The final version is obviously the best but I do really like this early demo with more subtle Orbit production.
