She released it because the lyrics reflect the times we are in because we can’t touch our loved ones.

With lockdown starting to ease in most places now, it would have worked better if she'd released it a few weeks ago!

 

It's a lovely version though and as Liam said I'd love 'Disrememberance' to be given this treatment, it would work even better for that.

This is a new recording and isnt linked to Warner music. So i doubt the sales /streams will be added to the original.
I’m obsessed with the new version - love that we got new vocals and it isn’t just a rehashed remix of the original.

Ooh excited to know there's more remixes on the way! A Bright Light Bright Light remix sounds very promising!

It makes more sense to me now as well, with the original being used during Australian Pride.

Just to add, it seems like we'll be getting Girl on vinyl soon so my original thought was that this new version would appear on that.

Yeah, I think it could have done with being a little longer and the final chorus needs more oomph following that ambient instrumental section. It does leave you think "that's the end?".

I think they could've done the entire track more in line with the break-down/ending rather than doing the first part so acoustic-y.

 

I'm looking forward to the remixes. It'll be interesting to hear how they'll tackle this new version.

She has also teased a new album plus more reworkings of more material .

Just had a look on her insta - definitely seems she's keen for more reworkings! In response to a fan saying that we need a new album, Dannii responds "what about vinyl of Girl first 🙏🏻" so it seems that's being worked on. Does the "first" suggest she is thinking of making a new album too?
Just bought my copy so expect this to shoot up on the Swedish iTunes chart :dance: I also bought Annie's American Cars right after it so that might end up higher - dumb planning on my part! :drama:

Great to see dannii doing this as the fans really want it. I wonder will she for a kylie Abbey roads type release with the ep andcrecird bew versions of her big songs?

Great that all I wanna do went top 40 itunes, getting there was my own goal for the release.
