June 25, 20205 yr So happy that ROCKSTAR is spending another week at #1 tomorrow. Hopefully it can tie (and maybe surpass) Blinding Lights as there's no new real competition
June 25, 20205 yr I still find it pretty crazy how Watermelon Sugar has blown up recently out of nowhere. I'm not a fan of Harry (it's not a negative, I just don't listen to his music) but I'm kind of rooting for him to go even higher. Everyone loves an underdog.
June 25, 20205 yr I still find it pretty crazy how Watermelon Sugar has blown up recently out of nowhere. I was thinking the same thing. It's not even the strongest of his singles, but somehow it's managed to capture the public's imagination. But regardless, it's great to see a post album single having this level of success!
June 25, 20205 yr I'd say it's getting the traction because it's the one of/if not the strongest single of this era! It did well when it was a promo single to hang around so it definitely had potential back then. I also think the release of the music video has kick started the process as well as the good weather and it's made to be a song for the sun!
June 25, 20205 yr I think if George Ezra returns sometime this summer it will be huge, though I think it's more likely to be early 2021. Watermelon Sugar just reminded me of him
June 25, 20205 yr Adelita securing more funds yesterday :cheer: Stop crying so loudly so you don't bother the other users.
June 25, 20205 yr Stop crying so loudly so you don't bother the other users. But how can you not cry when she gets so badly treated for being an American artist? :(
June 25, 20205 yr But how can you not cry when she gets so badly treated for being an American artist? :( To see the haters dropping rivers of tears is a delightful experience to witness.

June 25, 20205 yr Underdog? Biggest member of the biggest boyband of the last few years. Successful singles and album artist.....hardly an underdog. He's an underdog in the context of this song! Successful post-album singles are few and far between in the streaming era, and Watermelon Sugar had already been a hit before it became a single, so I don't think anyone ever anticipated this, regardless of how good the song is + how successful Harry is! Artists like Billie Eilish and Taylor Swift have struggled with post-album singles in recent times, while others like Post Malone and Ariana Grande simply haven't bothered. The fact Harry's scoring a second successful post-album single is a huge deal when most artists can't even get one nowadays. And that's without considering how the self-titled post-album singles did - Two Ghosts and Kiwi's chart peaks came from the album release week, they didn't re-enter as singles! Realistically, I was genuinely hoping for a top 40 re-entry for Watermelon Sugar. When it managed that the week the video came out, I revised my hopes to achieving a new peak, and it managed that just a couple of weeks later. Going top 10 is beyond what I ever hoped for but I'm absolutely thrilled. I hope it continues to defy expectations!
June 25, 20205 yr But you clearly care if you called it a delightful experience x Get your story straight Adeline x Is witnessing your tantrum a funny experience? Yes, it is, but it doesn't change the fact that me & everyone here doesn't care about your cheap show.

Totally agree with you and also hoping it continues to climb- I would adore (pardon the pun) for it to become a long-running too-five hit.

He is doing great and long may it continue!! Watermelon Sugar is definately capturing the GP and will get even bigger in my opinion.
