Thank you to everyone who participated in the Semi Final of the Rihanna UK #1s Survivor. After getting a huge 66.67% of the vote, we say goodbye to Diamonds which finishes in 3rd place and therefore misses out on a place in the final. I have to say even though this song is one of my all time favourite Rihanna songs, I am pleasantly surprised that it finished as high as it did. It's such a absolute gorgeous song where Rihanna's vocals take centre stage.

Hoping for an Umbrella win!

 

Umbrella is like Rihanna’s Bad Romance / Like A Prayer. It’s not her biggest seller but it’s her signature track that’s went down in history as a classic.

'We Found Love' was amazing at the time and a real MOMENT for her career, but I rarely go back to it. 'Umbrella' remains iconic.

Wishful thinking but like some other forum survivors we could get a whole new result by the time you close! It’s funny as when we done the poll between them before for what we should’ve sent like four rounds ago when we had a free theme and Umbrella won I was assuming people knew what they didn’t vote for would be what we’d use later maybe I didnt fully explain that :lol:

We Found Love although i'm pretty much split down the middle. They are both ICONIC and monster smashes. Umbrella undoubtedly put Rihanna on the map, gave her a record-equalling run at #1 and still to this day sounds incredible. But We Found Love is a magnificent anthem! For a song that doesn't have too many lyrics I find them all stunning: "yellow diamonds in the light" "as your shadow crosses mine" "shine a light from an open door" "turn away because I need you more" "love and life I will divide" the imagery is stunning. :wub: Plus the video is one of my favourites! And the single cover! Ugh the whole campaign was perfect!
