A flag for Why So Sirius would be nice to add to the flag collation thread as well @uhsting xx

A bit of a shame we didn't get an Aelandor entry here as I feel like Jacob may have appreciated my entry - still hope it'll appeal to anyone who likes a bit of repetitive math rock with a bit of a mediaeval theme xx

It would've been cool if Niceland managed to get Iceland but instead they get the similarly named Ireland (but not similarly flagged). St. Burbia send BJSC's favourite Russian girl group who you may have heard a song or seven from before.

Orla Joan Gartland (born 3 February 1995) is an Irish singer-songwriter and guitarist from Dublin who gained popularity from posting cover songs on her YouTube account. At present, her YouTube channel has received over 15 million views in total. Gartland describes her music as folk pop, most heavily influenced by Joni Mitchell, Regina Spektor, Imogen Heap. She frequently refers to herself as a "music makin' ginger nutcase." In 2012, she released her debut single, "Devil on my Shoulder", which entered the singer-songwriter iTunes charts in Ireland.

Serebro (Russian: Серебро, IPA: [sʲɪrʲɪˈbro] (About this soundlisten), lit. 'Silver'; stylized as SEREBRO) was a Russian girl group formed by their manager and producer Maxim Fadeev. Serebro was formed in 2007, consisting of Marina Lizorkina, Olga Seryabkina, and Elena Temnikova as a submitted proposal for consideration by Channel One Russia for the Eurovision Song Contest 2007. Serebro was selected to represent Russia at the 2007 Contest with the song titled "Song #1". They subsequently placed third at the contest, scoring a total of 207 points. Serebro was then officially signed to Fadeev's record label Monolit Records, and in 2012, the group had additional releases produced by Sony Music Entertainment and Ego Music. In 2009, Lizorkina announced her departure from the group; she was subsequently replaced by Anastasia Karpova. Karpova left the group in 2013 and was replaced by Dasha Shashina, who left in 2016. Temnikova left the group in 2014 due to health reasons, and Polina Favorskaya, who replaced Temnikova, left the group in 2017. Favorskaya was later replaced by Morgunova. In 2019, the line-up Olga Seryabkina, Katya Kischuk, and Tatiana Morgunova, the last one to include the last original member, has been replaced by Elizaveta Kornilova, Marianna Kochurova and Irina Titova.

Finally will be the reveal of Caerfyrddia and Aeroche.

ah no, I forgot to check. :( what are the odds.

there's no rule against it I guess, so if you're happy with having that entry Niceland it can stay.

I cannot stress how difficult it was to find an entry I rated above about 3/10. So many faceless dance and rap songs, nary a melody to be found.

LMAO me with Czech Republic, I wished I hadn't bothered entering at the last minute when the country name came through to me

Finally, it's a big plus for Caerfyrddia who were assigned Switzerland and go with symphonic metal. Aeroche were given one of the more difficult countries in Morocco but still managed to find something suited to their sound.

Lunatica is a Swiss symphonic metal band, formed in Suhr, Switzerland in 1998. Founded by keyboardist Alex Seiberl and guitarist Sandro D'Incau, lead vocalist Andrea Dätwyler joined the band in 2001.

[no biography available]

There we have it then, those are all the entries. Hopefully at least most of you were happy with what random.org gave you.

These numbers weren't picked which means we won't be seeing the following countries:

10. India

13. Jamaica

16. Hungary

21. Germany

30. South Korea

32. France

36. Finland

40. Mexico

41. Thailand

45. Turkey

47. Poland

(maybe next time it should just be 40 to choose from, I really wanted to see France and Germany in but you all just wouldn't choose them!)

lol I really wanted to just give you Germany anyway, you were so close to choosing it. :(

Only Austria getting represented out of the countries I've had in the past then with Thailand not picked and Malta/Zambia not being options. x

I think it's better to have more options than we need rather than risk running out of numbers, we did come pretty close to having 40 entrants!

Looking forward to this anyhoo :music:

my people  from first listen Addy did great representing PH

I hope people enjoy a CamelPhat/Franky Wah type song for my offering! Brazil has a HUGE EDM scene so I got lucky with that lol

Not the best representation considering they live in Australia (?) but I really had to go in the end with something I love.

During my search lots of male singers and boybands showed up!!!

Yeah Ireland twice in a row, was hoping for a more *exotic* country but hopefully I'll do better with Orla than with Rea Garvey!

Having a quick skim through I think Loca is the only one I know, the international students in Uni first year played it all the time.

Not the best representation considering they live in Australia (?) but I really had to go in the end with something I love.

Ooh did you find SB19? They’re a K-pop inspired boy group and they sing mostly in Tagalog! :) their sound is kinda similar to NCT

lol Jafet would

Haha tbf I had no idea who he was until I was researching Austrian artists and afaik he’s never even lived in Iceland. He just popped up on a list of popular Austrian artists and I liked this song.

Switzerland was hard! Most of the stuff I came across was yodelling, which Caerfyrddia have sent to BJSC in the past and not done well with! (Hi
). It came down to Lunatica, who I have loved for years and wish would return to making music, or a Home Bargains version of Helene Fischer's Atemlos... Hopefully I picked the right option!
