July 17, 20205 yr Some rather bold choices to go with a couple of artists with zero chart success in the UK here, considering the last AF Idol was so biased to chart hits that 'Gone' by Charli XCX got eliminated xx We are firmly unsurprised that the best artist choices have come from meddling MGMT members :kink: (Coldplay and Gorillaz are obvious faves for me, and Röyksopp I am slightly less familiar with on the whole but what I do know from them is pretty consistently excellent). But credit to (most of :basil:) the Inner Circle for Tinashe, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Weeknd also being good choices while Janet Jackson sounds like a good one for me to explore her discog more as I know very few of her songs ~ + Kelly Clarkson and Mariah Carey make sense as picks though I'm not really a fan of either. Does Hailee Steinfeld even have enough songs to make it all the way through this? :ph34r:
July 17, 20205 yr It's a really interesting bunch of artists and seeing which mods have contributed which artists has helped as I can see where the passion for them has come from! I think our winner will come from one of those with a well established back catalogue, seeing as the likes of The Spice Girls, Kylie and even Robbie did well in the previous round. I think our winner will be Mariah, Janet Jackson or Kelly Clarkson!
July 17, 20205 yr Some great choices! I’d predict a Kelly win purely based off how well she did in the recent poll for the favourite female artist. Hoping The Weeknd can do well though and isn’t a early casualty due to being one of the only males in this. Can definitely see some surprising results here it’s like BJ stanned artists vs some genuine icons vs some current icons. Exciting!
July 17, 20205 yr Just an FYI, I had a plan for: Justin Timberlake Loreen Raleigh Ritchie --- Round 1 choices were likely to be: Justin - My Love Loreen - My Heart Is Refusing Me Raleigh Ritchie - Bloodsport '15 Also, I can definitely see huge upsets in this. I can see Kelly under performing and finishing 4th or something, with the likes of Coldplay and Gorillaz doing extremely well. I assume Royksopp will do well and have a consistent fanbase always voting their stuff etc.. Like I predicted earlier though, I think we could be seeing a Janet victory!
