I'm not happy with no 82, but at least it's top 100. Big question: Would Say Something have charted top 75 if it had been released last Friday instead of Thursday?

Say Something

Download chart down to from 9 to 11

Sales chart up 1 from 12 to 11

It sold 6,091 to get 82. It got around 1700 sales last Thursday plus a few inquisitive streams so it may have had a total of around 7,800 if released last Friday instead of Thursday and probsbly gone top 65?

7,807 total sales, so 1,716 sold on its first day of availability.

Those sales would have placed it at #59 last week.

Yes it would have done, and that is REALLY annoying.

I’m actually happy that it’s managed to chart, super disappointing that the labels decision to release early cost it a potential Top 60 placing though!

If her next single isn't released on Friday we know for sure they don't care about chart positions anymore and just want money. I guess many labels think Wednesday or Thursday releases sell more because of lack of competition.

The thursday release cost it a top 75 which is so annoying but at one point i thought it might miss the top 100 so im happy.

Well.... The song hasnt even been sent to radio yet.....

I do feel though we could get video next Friday with remixes and radio 1 playlist and then that will be that for Say Something and on to single two at end of August /beginning of September.

Who knows though!

Yeah, no chance!

It is most frustrating the Thursday release cost it an official Top 75 entry.

That said, during the week I worried it may lose out on Top 100 and it safely secured a position which is positive.

I don’t even think it’s about money - Kylie, her management and label are well aware her days of big hit singles are over, and in the grand scheme of things even if they had released it on Friday it would have only reached #59+ so hardly missing out on a huge hit. The singles model is there solely to sell the album - they could easily give us physicals etc., of singles but it still wouldn’t turn the singles in to hits, maybe a 44-72-99 kind of chart run.

While I'm happy that it at least managed a Top 100 position, knowing that it could have been quite a bit higher with a Friday release is annoying, for sure. :(

She was just 335 sales away from being in the Top 75!

24/07 - N/A - 1,716 sales

31/07 - #82 - 6,091 sales [1,609 downloads / 4,321 premium stream sales / 46 ad-funded stream sales / 115 video stream sales]

Good to see premium steaming sales high means Kylie fans pay for their subscription lol.

Also Lyric video got 115 uk sales and only had 450k views worldwide. So when the video comes out we can expect that weeks video sales in UK to be nearer 300-400 I think

I am hoping she can get 3,000 sales this week while no promo/no new releases and then wait until next Friday fro video (though this could well be dropped anytime knowing her team lol)
