People slating Taylor on here is funny! Her best album to date by a country mile but may not be to some taste. With CDs available this would have outdone Lover but in the long run wil sell more. Such a beautiful incredible album.

Yes, it’s done okay based on first midweeks but those first midweeks sales aren’t anything ground breaking and unless you have a crystal ball then you can’t really say for certain this will have longevity. BMG need to be smart and release a physical product. Dancing only pushed T40 due to 7’ inch single. If they issued a CD single and 7’ then this could also achieve a T40 placing potentially.

14k with streams and digital sales only is huge! Isn't it better than what Drake and Juice WRLD (two streaming giants) did?

exactly, it would be the smart thing to do...otherwise it will struggle to reach the top 75....like any other legacy act...

 

I don't think it would have a massive impact but they're definitely appealing to a similar demographic and there's only so many hours in the day. It's not that ridiculous a suggestion.

Sorry but I think it's a ridiculous suggestion. There's plenty of artists who share demographics but this is the first time I've ever heard of a suggestion that one act is underperforming because the other released something!

now they have the Taylor album if they stream it 10 times a day

there is no time left for those 10 Little Mix streams :)

At least in the US, Target said it's out on August 7th, hope the same happens in the UK.

yeah I'm probs the perfect case study for this, as the biggest Taylor stan on here and LM being in my top 5 acts most played ever and being the other artist forum I mod on here :lol:

 

I listened to break up song 27 times between Friday to Sunday (& that was competing with FN too). I have listened to holiday... once. and I love it as well, it def would've had way more plays from me if it wasn't for Tay :kink:

Over the past 4 years Maroon 5 have released slow burning hit song a song in the summer that has ended up becoming a hit in the Autumn. See 'Girls Like You', 'Don't Wanna Know', 'What Lovers Do' and 'Memories'. I expect this new one will do the same.

We will see however it is very likely to! The critical success already of this album is huge and this will sell bucket loads especially in the US. We get it, your not a fan of it.

Bear in mind Memories debuted at #66 - it took 4 weeks to go top 40! They're not really a "fanbase" act so they'll be relying on airplay, exposure and playlisting for this to be a hit, because once Memories got that, it rocketed up.
