April 15, 20214 yr I could envisage another 2012 situation where Chelsea win the CL but don't finish in the top 4 meaning they could potentially steal a position away from West Ham or Leicester. Scenes if that happened! Yeah this SF line-up is a... choice that's for sure. Suppose I'm cheering on PSG now then :nocheer:

It is plausible though of course! Going to be an interesting end to the season for Chelsea, their Premier League run-in is pretty tough as well.
April 28, 20214 yr Team Real Madrid for the Champions League. That was until.... Last Sunday. This definitely came back to bite me. :P
April 29, 20214 yr Feels a bit like this is City's year to be honest. It was inevitable they would win it at some stage and it has been funny watching them mess it up so many times. Feels a bit like them or PSG winning it suits a season with no fans, it would be very fitting. As much as the Super League gets slated, the idea was right as the year's semi-final line-up is truly sickening and the El Oilio had £1b worth of talent today in the starting XI.
April 29, 20214 yr City can still balls it up, keep the faith. PSG have been way better on the road this season!
April 29, 20214 yr City can still balls it up, keep the faith. PSG have been way better on the road this season! Kind of feels like their year really, huge slices of luck, no fans - it's going to happen eventually. I guess that's the fun with away legs, teams know what they have to do. City have the lead so do they protect it and look to hit on the counter? (which they are not trained to do). And likewise with Chelsea, they have the away goal but does Tuchel go full ZZZZ and just play for a 0-0. A City-Chelsea final would really be the stuff of nightmares
April 29, 20214 yr Qatar had ONE JOB and the serial bottle merchants couldn’t take down the Middle Easts other bottle jobs. Honestly routing for Real in spite of their toxic president as the only non-Oil club in the final 4 🙃
April 29, 20214 yr Qatar had ONE JOB and the serial bottle merchants couldn’t take down the Middle Easts other bottle jobs. Honestly routing for Real in spite of their toxic president as the only non-Oil club in the final 4 🙃 The problem is, this could become a regular occurence in the semi-finals. I know the Super League was not that well managed, but it taking out the wider piece, we have three clubs here who have unlimited funds and it's impossible to compete with them. Sure, they may have a bad season every now and again but Christ if Liverpool hadn't won the league last year you'd really be looking at City potentially winning 5 league titles in a row next year. Unheard of. But I've still got my Madrid shirt on, definitely the lesser of the four evils.
May 5, 20214 yr Not the result I wanted to see but from watching the highlights and reading the general consensus that was an absolutely fully deserved City win. And still got a bit of enjoyment from seeing Neymar the petulant child and his comrades throw their toys out of the pram. Does anyone else think Poch is gonna be back at Spurs for next season? Interesting to see Mahrez come to the forefront this season after being largely anonymous for most of his City tenure. With him, Foden & even Torres all higher in the pecking order now, I wouldn't be surprised to see Sterling off in the Summer. How shite has he been this season?! Wouldn't even have him in the England XI in the Euros. And how amazing is Ruben Dias? Best defender on the planet right now. Anyone who can make John Stones look like competent centre half has serious minerals. Edited May 5, 20214 yr by Dobbo.

Poch will be fine at PSG until next season  They are lucky they got to face Bayern without Lewandowski and Gnabry and they maybe could have put up a better fight yesterday if Mbappe was actually fit. Unfortunately as I feared, City are going to win it this year. No irony is lost on me that they will win it in a season they should be banned from it  I still really like Sterling, the problem with him this season is he has really struggled to find his place in Guardiola's new system. But Pep is seriously weird with players - always baffles me how players can be so out of favour with him and then turn it around the following season.
May 5, 20214 yr If they don't win Ligue 1 he's 100% gone surely?! That's the absolute bare minimum for a PSG manager, I think only wining this comp would make up for not winning the league title. They sacked Tuchel after winning the league AND making the final after all. For the record I think they will still win it, but 1 point behind Lille with only 3 games left is cutting it very fine! Nah he will be fine there this season. The reason they are in such a mess was the start of the season, for which he will escape blame. I'm fairly sure Tuchel got sacked because he fell out with the board, which similar to Mourinho tends has happened more than once  So it will be interesting to see what happens with him in Chelsea in a couple of years.

May 5, 20214 yr Author Pfwwww terrible European Cup final, would have been a crap league cup final in the mid 90s!
May 5, 20214 yr Probably should have seen this coming at the start of the season, an English team always wins the Champions League whenever the final is at the Atatürk Stadium.
May 5, 20214 yr The only positive to take out of this is one of the teams will lose and there will be no fans. I don't think I could have imagined a worse final.. only with Utd were there instead of Chelsea!
May 5, 20214 yr One thing you can guarantee, the fans of the winning team will call it "The miracle of Istanbul"
May 5, 20214 yr One thing you can guarantee, the fans of the winning team will call it "The miracle of Istanbul" That's only relevant to 2005 as that was a genuine miracle.
