December 5, 20204 yr I was expecting Arcade Fire to do quite well, but not quite top 20, mainly because of their recent performances on other things on this site that posters have voted for - Reflektor and Everything Now in the top 40 songs of the decade and Funeral top 20 album of all time. They did start so well, Funeral is an incredible album that deserved every plaudit it received, I've played it so often over time, and the next two were great too. Reflektor has its great moments but was too long and the first album that contained songs I got bored of, a couple of great songs on the recent one but only listened to it a couple of times. AF top 5: Rebellion (Lies) Sprawl II (Mountains Beyond Mountains) Power Out Reflektor Wake Up I hated everything about the Pussycat Dolls but there was one song that I now can't remember the title of that I thought was great!
December 5, 20204 yr I hated everything about the Pussycat Dolls but there was one song that I now can't remember the title of that I thought was great! Was it 'I Hate This Part'? That seems like the sort of song non-PCD fans would appreciate.
December 5, 20204 yr Just catching up, from my remaining six, Depeche Mode and Muse just missed out on the top 20. Depeche Mode were a bit higher than I expected. They've endured for 40 years now, it's good to see plenty of love for them on here. Steps/Take That/Pussycat Dolls - I don't really like anything by these groups. Arcade Fire - great to see them as high as no.17. Funeral is certainly their high point. Each album after that is not as good as the one that preceded it. Regarding those that missed out, The Stone Roses and Ace Of Base are a surprise and Led Zeppelin are the equivalent in the groups of Bob Dylan in the solo males, just not relevant in the Buzzjack world. Of those mentioned, Frankie Goes To Hollywood and Dire Straits would have been the closest to getting points from me. Status Quo are another well known group to miss out but not a big surprise that no one voted for them.
December 5, 20204 yr Was it 'I Hate This Part'? That seems like the sort of song non-PCD fans would appreciate. I had to look it up as that didn't ring a bell and then neither did a check on Polyhex (though I did forget about Jai Ho's existence - also great), so had to look at old last.fm stats, it was Wait a Minute so surprised it didn't chart. No particular reason for me to have liked it and not the others!

December 5, 20204 yr Was it 'I Hate This Part'? That seems like the sort of song non-PCD fans would appreciate. That's probably my least favourite PCD song lol xx Arcade Fire are another band who I tend to forget ever had any chart hits, their top 40 hits all predate me being aware they existed ('Keep The Car Running' was the first song I heard from them), as such I have never had as much of an affinity with the 'Funeral' era as most people seem to. I don't know if they'd have quite made a list of mine and I am surprised they're this high but I'm here for it just to piss off Jason honestly xx
December 5, 20204 yr It's mind-boggling that Arcade Fire have finished above Take That and are as high as #17, would never have predicted that in million years! I'm not their biggest fan but I do like a few of their songs, including the brilliant 'Everything Now' - I legit thought that was Abba from the first 30 seconds the first time I heard it  Pussycat Dolls are a bit meh for me, I suppose the singles are quite nice to bop along to but there's far better girl groups out there.

December 6, 20204 yr My 30 and 29 out in one fell swoop  that #1s list for The Beatles :cheeseblock:
December 6, 20204 yr Oh! I was just about to say that you must have missed my points off for those two but I've just checked and I indeed didn't vote for them. I do like both but they're acts that I rarely find myself choosing to listen to. My 29 pointer must be out soon. I wouldn't have expected them to beat The Beatles or Oasis on a Buzzjack chart! :o
December 6, 20204 yr Glad to see Oasis and Beatles not be top 10, sorry. I do think Oasis have some great songs tbf but not the best vocal wise. Beatles I would say for me personally are the most overrated band of all time I find them so mediocre.
December 6, 20204 yr Bearing in mind this is Buzzjack, The Beatles have done quite well to finish 15th. The seven people who voted for them all gave them a high score. I've just noticed that JLS did not receive any votes. They need to be added to the list of shock no pointers. Have the pop fans on here forgotten about them already?
December 6, 20204 yr Well at least they came out in the right order. Oasis favourites: Some Might Say, Live Forever, then Rockin' Chair as the pick of their B-sides. Honourable mention to Champagne Supernova Beatles favourites: And Your Bird Can Sing, Eleanor Rigby, A Day In The Life
December 6, 20204 yr And there goes my 30 pointer! (as well my 26 pointer) It's kinda pleasing to see Oasis and The Beatles back to back on the countdown, although obviously I would have liked them to both be top ten :) (and how anyone can call The Beatles overrated I have no idea!) I couldn't pick a favourite Oasis track or Beatles track because there's just too many I love! Edited December 6, 20204 yr by M4ngo Ho Ho
December 6, 20204 yr Yeah I have a playlist of my top 50 Beatles songs and even that feels too competitive
December 6, 20204 yr Great to see Arcade Fire making the top 20 🙌🏼 They’re so consistently great (apart from some of Everything Now but I’ll forgive them for that...) My 29 pointer must be out soon. I wouldn't have expected them to beat The Beatles or Oasis on a Buzzjack chart! :o I wonder if this is the same as my 29 pointer 😱 I wouldn’t have them down as particular Buzzjack favourite either, although they’re undeniably huge – I imagine they’ll receive a lot of votes from a few voters, rather than a few from a lot? That’s if it’s even the same band :’)
December 6, 20204 yr Not too bad a result for The Beatles there, although BuzzJack will continue to BuzzJack placing The Saturdays ahead of them ~
December 6, 20204 yr Great to see Arcade Fire making the top 20 🙌🏼 They’re so consistently great (apart from some of Everything Now but I’ll forgive them for that...) LOL The only song of theirs I like is Everything Now. I'm not a hater but I tend to agree with Lukuzz, The Beatles are very overrated really. I think I like them even less after that bloody 'Yesterday' film. I find absurd that some people can think that just because a group were huge in the 60s they (or their songs) would have been huge nowadays too (if people had forgotten their songs). People have changed their taste completely after all these years, etc. So, I still have 2 girlbands and 1 male duo left. :teresa: Edited December 6, 20204 yr by Jason

Beatles I would say for me personally are the most overrated band of all time I find them so mediocre. Listen to music before and after the Beatles to see how important they are. They basically created the format of the album!
December 6, 20204 yr LOL The only song of theirs I like is Everything Now. Ha I meant the album, not the song. Love Everything Now the song, but the album as a whole wasn’t their best.
