I think Bieber will be beating them this week anyway!

Do you think? He’s at 26 on Amazon, behind on iTunes and Behind on YouTube..

Now included in the 59p songs section on itunes!

Ahh hopefully that gets a few more sales

Olivia will definitely be #1 this week i think. Hopefully this only drops to around #3 or #4 at the very least?

I guess #2 could still be possible but i have a feeling Justin and *maybe* Ed will be ahead of them

Edited by legendsglory

They were so on course for 2 weeks.

Streams were higher, less of a gap between Justin and Ed.

They’ll be 2 this week behind Olivia I’m sure.

So annoying

I don't mind it falling to #2, it would've then been at positions 1, 2, 3 and 4

yeah that's my way of coping

If they don’t get the best group award at the Brits I will RIOT.

I won't happen pop groups never win that award. The closest in the last 20/30 years has been Take That.

Yeah it's great still but for my own satisfaction would of been nice to see it hold number 1 without the fan push..

BUT

If it holds at 2 that gives it massive credibility still.

It's huge regardless anddd It looks like it's gained on streaming by some margin this week so it's staying on SCR to be the longest running top 10 they've had :w00t:

I’m so here for this being their longest running top 10 single.. that would be insane!!
It went to number 1 in it's 10th week and will (probably) be a million seller in the future. Whatever it's chart run now, it's done much better than anyone ever expected.

I can't see this leaving the top 10 until it hits ACR. Is it gonna be the Don't Start Now of 2021?

The mini meltdowns some you had when Halloween weekend pushed this down the chart a bit is funny in hindsight.

Same!

I think we all constantly have meltdowns watching songs of late constantly fall to the 30's/40's on Spotify and creep into the top 20 on Apple and then yo-yo in that region...

SM was too good to be one of those songs so I'm just so pleased it's become even bigger than I personally thought.

The girls have such a new lease of life too, I'm so excited for them to smash as a Trio.

True but last year there was a huge uproar when men dominated every category they could be nominated in.

I think the stans this year will be pissed if Little Mix don't get it in 2021, since this is their nomination year (only nominated once every other year, 2017-2019-2021)

They deserved in 2017 after how huge Glory Days + SOTME were, and coming off Get Weird's success, 2019 I'll give it that it wasn't meant to be theirs since it wasn't that big of an era, but 2021 they definitely deserve. Women have never won the award, a woman hasn't been included in the winning group since the 80s(?)

If the BRITs really wanna prove that they're inclusive and all about diversity, they'll give them the best group award.

(sorry, I know this comes off as aggressive, i know you're not "against" them getting it lol)

I don’t think the BRITs care too much about how big of a year a group has. In 1997 the Spice Girls had 4 No.1s in the U.K., 2 No.1 albums and was then UK/World’s best selling music act and yet they weren’t even nominated for best group at the 1998 ceremony. Unless you’re a solo act like Duffy, Adele, Amy or Dua you don’t get a look in.

I can’t see it going to be a million seller for a loooong time. After 10 weeks it’s **only** done 325k - I assumed it was on more than that and sales are so low just now. I think platinum is even a very long way off IMO.

Totally not against them winning it at all I'd love them to

I can see them getting a nomination but a British girl band has never won the award, and actually only one pure pop act has won it ever (as in manufactured group). I do get them favouring acts who have more control over their songs etc it does in a way make them more worthy winners. Not to say I agree with that however, there's been several times where I feel pop acts have been unfairly snubbed in favour of a more 'credible' act - Little Mix being one when 1975 won over them Girls Aloud and Spice Girls being two others where I've thought they deserved it more than winners in certain years).

Spice Girls for example (sorry to bring them up again) were the biggest band in the world in 1997and 1998 and they were passed over in 97 in favour of Manic Street Preachers (not as successful but more 'credible') and then in 98 they were not even nominated after having broken America, having 2 #1 albums and 4 #1 singles that year and being the biggest selling music act in the world  They were also snubbed for the live act award after TROTSG being the second most successful tour in the world in 2008,so The Brits clearly don't really care about how worthy a winner is.

I actually took a look at how many times a Girl group has been nominated for best British group since 1977 and it's appalling:

x2 nominations - Sugababes (2004/2004), Girls Aloud (2008/2009), Little Mix (2017/2019)

x1 nomination - Shakespeare's Sister (1993), Spice Girls (1997), All Saints (2001)

Girls Aloud, Sugababes, Little Mix, Spice Girls and All Saints definitely deserve more nominations, and I'd argue that Eternal and Bananarama also deserve nominations. Ironically The Bangles and Destiny's Child both won international group once each, it's a shame that they credit international girl groups more than British groups.

Obviously I hope I'm wrong but I see someone like The Weekend winning it (are they British??)

Edited by spiceboy

The Weeknd is International solo male!

The 6 groups in contention for the Best British Group I think would likely be: Little Mix, Nothing But Thieves, Idles, Doves and the usual Biffy Clyro or The 1975.

So yeah, they will probably be nominated but they definitely won't win. :(

Will this be eligible for Best Single? Would love to see it get a nomination but i dont know how possible it is as its probably not sold enough..
I really doubt the tour will go ahead now. Lockdown could last months, even then they wouldnt have time to rehearse. They were due to have a show in Leeds the night of the brits I think
