What did LM5 sell in week one off streams and what did Golden sell off streams.

Just as a comparison. Streaming could definitely make the difference here!! Kylie will almost definitely be #1 on paid sales though

I enquired to Jay and he said 'LM5' did 9.5k in streams in its first week, I would expect 'Confetti' to be lower than that. 'Golden' did 1.8k looking back at the Week by Week Stats thread.

Based off the singles success in the Confetti era compared to 'Woman Like Me' then yeah you'd expect them to do less this time but remember they'll have three singles to boost streaming numbers in the first week (so one will count for the total) compared to just one.

Possible I suppose, but digging back to 2018 Spotify threads these were their positions on the first day for 'LM5':

2 Woman Like Me (feat. Nicki Minaj)

22 Strip (feat. Sharaya J)

71 Think About Us

76 Joan of Arc

85 Wasabi

88 Only You (with Cheat Codes)

94 Monster In Me

96 Told You So

114 Love a Girl Right

119 American Boy

123 More Than Words (feat. Kamille)

130 The Cure

141 Forget You Not

142 Motivate

183 Notice

190 Woman's World

Right now 'Holiday' is their only song in the top 200 at #77, I would assume that'll probably still be in their top 2 songs when the album comes out and I'm not sure I can see them having a third song meaningfully higher than #71. Maybe they might manage to pull similar numbers to 'LM5' considering that the lack of a 'Woman Like Me' size hit doesn't actually make a difference for the albums chart but I definitely don't see them going higher than the 9.5k they did last time.

Holiday I'd say will be 3rd or 4th. 1st I presume will be their new single Sweet Melody which is out on Friday and will be being pushed as the current single, then they'll probably have an album track they push on NMF (maybe the title track or something). And I'd say Holiday will come after that, unless Break Up Song has a higher boost due to being track 1 and being a generally more well known song and bigger hit?

True. Hello its me. And that's it and the world ended. But what's the connection?

Ah, that was a genius bit of promotion B-) but what's it got to do with the price of fish?!

MTV EMAs

Little Mix host and perform ....

8th Nov. Big promo slot for them

Was just about to post this! I think the EMA’s will give them the edge!

+ lots of promo that week and The Search too

The EMAs isn't broadcast on tv though. Graham Norton is actually a better slot than anything Little Mix have lined up so far

Even then the EMA's very rarely have that much of an affect here, right? (Not sure about other countries) Unless a performance goes viral - like Dua last year - mainly it's coz people were shocked about the difference in her ability as a performer going from THOSE One Dance performances to that EMAs performance

But yeah, I'm not expecting much of a boost at all.

Any bit of promo is better than nothing at the moment.

Kylie Streaming event on 7th Nov won't be that big outside of the people who usually buy her album either but every bit helps.

Streaming should win it for Little Mix 5k extra streams could well be enough but also they have so many formats too that Kylie may struggle.

Let's see. The record companies will have a good idea already and we could see a few price wars if it does get close.

We could even see the likes of Sam, Ariana, Bruce or even Adele causing problems for them both

Who knows what will happen.

Genuinely could go either way.

However, If either Kylie or Little Mix get into price wars I'll be annoyed as both are solid names who shouldn't need to do this.

I really don't think any of these pose a threat.

I think release week is what will make a difference and so far it seems to be that Kylie has a better release week than the girls, as I can't see them being on Strictly either, seeing as The Search will air on the 7th as well.

She has Graham Norton which is a much better promo slot than EMA's as far as impact on the charts goes and her virtual show, which is catered to her public but is also likely to boost sales a bit.

Also her prices are much, much better already. I hope the girls lower theirs come release week as some stuff is very expensive at the moment.

as much as I adore Kylie, i dont think she stands a chance of overtaking Little mIX, especially since LM have the streaming, and promo advantage, Kylie relies mostly on her fans who still purchase albums from HMV and supermarket chains, this time around it won't be an option due to Covid lockdown.... so i think in the ebd Little Mix will sell 60k and Kylie 30-35k at best

Supermarkets are all open during lockdown, hopefully they will be stocking new releases. I’m not sure what HMV shops percentage of the market is, probably minimal in 2020.

The only other surprise release which may interfere is Drake.
