Fair Play to Barlow team but gosh if you think someone like Kylie sold 55,000 at full price 10.99 and 14.99 for 3 weeks + vinyl

you cannot compare, nobody has the fanbase that Kylie has to spend so much money and buy 15 vinyls and 10 cassettes

also you have to look at the long-term sales not the week 1 sales...

It’s not like everybody bought multiple copies, Kylie would have had a very significant number of people just buy one copy. The fact she’s stayed Top 10 for 3 weeks & on course to make it 4 shows that she’s had general/casual appeal too.

Gary’s sales are way down on his previous solo album and Take That releases. It’s brand new territory for him (well, his label) to feel the need to slash the prices.

sure Kylie also got random buyers but I'm sure she wouldn't have got over 50K without the multi-formating and multi-buying, no doubt about it

if she remained top 10 last week is cosmos multi-formatting not cos of random buyers either....

Seriously we’re in a thread about Steps Vs Gary and you are still trying to dismiss Kylie’s achievement.

She didn’t have ‘15 vinyl and 10 cassettes’ and I think you wildly over think the amount of collectors and multi buyers she has. She is a consistent seller and ‘Golden’ shifted 48k on week 1 and stayed Top 10 for 4 weeks, the same with Disco it’s clear that it’s appealing outside of her core fanbase rather than people multi buying each week.

As a collector I bought everything week 1 but am not multi buying each week

Well that's achieved 3 more sales from me :w00t: Couldn't resist a signed vinyl. Quite a clever idea to release two different digital albums with different content on them.

I got the triple bundle too :cheer: Great marketing again from BMG making the MP3s available with the vinyl - snatch those extra sales Steps :w00t:

Steps aren't for me but down with Tory Barlow either way.

Stream it once! Stream it twice when you discover it's amazing pop! Buy a Lisa cassette!

I’ve just downloaded the two digital albums too.

Partly because the extra content is amazing but also because I was feeling guilty given that I managed to get the CD in Asda on Thursday night as they put it out early (tut tut), meaning my sale counted towards last week and therefore was essentially wasted for chart purposes.

If they miss out by a few copies and it’s like the Touch Me vs It’s The Way You Make Me Feel saga all over again then at least I’ve done what I can I redeem myself.

Ordered a signed vinyl...

Not the biggest fan of steps these days but it was the first live show I saw when I was a kid!

Iconic to have a signed vinyl :D

Sis, why are you so pressed about Kylie's Week 3 sales?

Gary up to #2 on Amazon now and ahead of Steps on iTunes (albeit I doubt many sales are coming from there anyway)
I think Gary has it now - I’m not sure signed vinyl and £4.99 MP3s on the Steps site is enough to compete with half price deals etc.,
The Steps album is now also £4.99 on Amazon.

:cheer: :cheer: Yes go Steps - start that battle!

Gloves are off...£4.99 for the standard CD release week. Crazy.

Come on Steps, take down Barlow.
