What are we expecting for this year? I have a feeling they might be slightly higher with what's going on at the moment, with Fairytale of New York potentially entering as well.

 

I think a lot of people are going to want to be in the Christmas spirit sooner this year (me included) so I wouldn’t be surprised for some early charting 😄

I distinctly remember someone saying Ariana was underperforming on Spotify even when she got 9/10 of the top 10 with 'thank u, next'. Lol ~

 

It's obviously a dropoff but honestly it's not that much of a dropoff - 6 of the top 10 and 14 of the top 26 is, by pretty much any standard, still a fantastic result, the benchmark of her previous album is literally one of the most successful streaming debuts of all time, it's not really a fair comparison.

While the Ariana numbers are obviously impressive, it is quite a dramatic decrease from Thank You Next, which averaged nearly 550k streams per song first day, whilst positions averaged just over 300k. If streaming continues at this rate, I don’t see the album selling much more than 35k first week

They’re actually a lot higher than that. I’m guessing you’re using Kworb which is normally quite behind when it comes to Apple Music?

Mariah did 80,659 on 1/11 last year (#88) - that would place her only at #107 today albeit due to album releases.

Given that Sunday streams are usually poor anyhow and she may get slightly more streams anyway I'll predict #69.
