October 9, 20204 yr lol I find it funny how AGAIN it's track 6 that is causing the most polarizing opinions. Every time they release track 6 there's always people who either HATE it or love it. (Ever since Get Weird anything) Grown, Down & Dirty, Joan of Arc and Not a Pop Song. I'm sure at this point they fully know they have polarizing tracks lol and they KNOW which will create that buzz haha Edited October 9, 20204 yr by jsweetxe
October 9, 20204 yr This song is nothing groundbreaking but my god the chorus is catchy. I’ve had it stuck in my head since I heard it this morning. The Simon says lyrics are clearly there to generate publicity though.
October 9, 20204 yr Lol it's obviously a pop song; the title is tongue in cheek. This. It’s like how No More Sad Songs is kind of a sad song.
October 9, 20204 yr 6 on iTunes Worldwide! Wow - wasn’t expecting that at all. Hopefully it helps with album preorders.
October 9, 20204 yr Wow - wasn’t expecting that at all. Hopefully it helps with album preorders. It’s doing amazing considering it’s not even a single!
October 9, 20204 yr Really shocked at how well this is doing on iTunes! #2 is their highest position for a promotional single and actually one of their highest overall ?
October 9, 20204 yr Really shocked at how well this is doing on iTunes! #2 is their highest position for a promotional single and actually one of their highest overall ? Yeah it’s literally one of their highest peaking songs on iTunes now. Crazy! It probably would of went #1 but Miley was discounted and i’m sure she has just performed the song too but i didn’t expect it to come anywhere close to #2 so i’m very happy with that!
October 10, 20204 yr Debuts with 726k streams on Spotify! That’s actually very good. The unfiltered streams should be around 800k-850k
October 10, 20204 yr I'm not really a fan of this on first (and second) listen. Lyrically it's just very throwaway. It is well produced though and I'm pleased that it's been well-received.
October 10, 20204 yr I think the lyrics are pretty good for them? Compared to Holiday and BUS which are very throwaway lyrically. This actually has lyrics about their experiences in the industry and a few fun tongue in cheek remarks. Anyone know how Joan Of Arc did on Spotify to compare?
October 10, 20204 yr I think the lyrics are pretty good for them? Compared to Holiday and BUS which are very throwaway lyrically. This actually has lyrics about their experiences in the industry and a few fun tongue in cheek remarks. I suppose it's the idea that they're not puppets and they're not going to make music like "that" anymore, even though they are making music like the stuff they refer to in the song? Feels forced for the sake of fake controversy.
October 10, 20204 yr I am a bit disappointed by this, but I'm glad it's just an album track. The content is very tongue in cheek, but feels a bit beneath them at this point? Plus "LM5" was great and everything they've released since then has felt a bit "not their best" so maybe "Simon" had a bit of a point. I just hope the album has more "Wasabi", "Strip", "Joan Of Arc" type songs and less of what we've heard so far - there's no cohesion at the moment.
