October 16, 20204 yr OK, how the FUCK did they release 'Holiday' as a single when they had this?! That is maddening.
October 16, 20204 yr This is easily the best song from the era so far, definitely back up to their usual standards. I hope they're releasing it now to test the waters for how it would do as a single later down the line because it's too good to be left as an instant grat. I definitely see the "No Tears Left To Cry" comparisons but I could also imagine it being the sort of song that could have a BANGING garage remix.
October 16, 20204 yr I really don't understand Holiday being a single over this either BUT potentially they knew they had all these gems and Holiday acted as a buffer with these superior singles acting to create a 'buzz' for the album.. They could be being performed on The Search? Who knows, but I do feel Holiday was more of a filler for the summer leading into better singles for the album's release? It would be nice if this time around after LM5 we actually had a proper album and singles campaign with a couple of singles to follow based on public perception BUT do we even think this is possible now? Is there enough hype for an album song which fans all own becoming a successful single? Edited October 16, 20204 yr by Mr. C. Joel
October 16, 20204 yr Pretty devastating that this is 690 on Apple Music while NAPS has climbed to 143 :(
October 16, 20204 yr Omg why the hell is this not a single!!!! It’s their best song since Touch. It actually sounds like no tears left to cry. This is a definite smash ready and waiting. If it’s not single 3 it needs to be single 4.
October 16, 20204 yr Omg why the hell is this not a single!!!! It’s their best song since Touch. THIS!!
October 16, 20204 yr The fact they didn't think this was lead single worthy honestly freaks me out! Same, who is making these decisions?! Hopefully they're reading forums like this to see the reaction this is getting. Not quite sure I hear the 'No Tears Left to Cry' comparisons though.
October 16, 20204 yr Author Corona definitely threw a spanner in the works. I lowkey think they were scheduled for a Summer album and wasn't there another song that was scheduled to be the lead (I wanna say it was Sweet Melody - video was planned to be shot in Brazil whilst they were there) I assume they wanted to save SM until they had an idea of the albums release. So opted for BUS as the lead and I guess they wanted to try and capitalise on the last few weeks of Summer, with Holiday. Idk. That's my guess aha.
October 16, 20204 yr I'm liking this a lot, the production is so lush. Only downside is some of the lyrics are a little on the cheesy side for me. Holiday sound so out of place compared to the other three tracks.
October 16, 20204 yr I LOVE it, especially the chorus is on fire. Definitely had this on repeat today and seems like their strongest one this era (and I love the other three we have had so far).
October 16, 20204 yr Absolutely LOVING this. Definitely the best thing from them since LM5 (and maybeeeee before!) Edited October 16, 20204 yr by Slick
October 16, 20204 yr On 70 plays of this already. It was a cultural reset. Wonder if Confetti is gonna dethrone GD as my most played album (since I started using last fm) 🤓
October 17, 20204 yr I was having a drunken Friday night in with my housemates tonight, they were all fighting over the music because they couldn't agree on a song to play... so I played them this, it stopped them all dead in their tracks and they all LOVED it. If that doesn't spell out the potential of this song, I don't know what does. They're foolish if they waste it...
October 17, 20204 yr Doesn’t mean much but it’s #1 on Amazon bestsellers in songs. Also, Not a pop song, holiday and BUS all high up
