Its a shame the physical is still so far away as im not sure if they will have anything left for that week to try and get a some paid for sales and streams to tie in with physical sales.

The team have not given up on Real Groove it appears.

Just a shame they wait weeks in between it being released and doing the next thing - this tactic is clearly not helping the single or album sell

Ya i see your point, i do think they would have been better holding all the remixes etc off and release to tie in with the physical, the combined sales of everything in the one week is what they need to achieve the highest peak.

I would love them to try releasing a single on a friday, with the physical, remixes, video etc all out at the one time to see how high a kylie single can actually peak these days, for me that would be the best way to achieve its potential highest position.

I think the stricter lockdown rules over winter have had an effect on the promotional campaign for 'Real Groove', as it seems to with a lot of music going by the lack of activity in the music industry recently, but I do think BMG's main strategy is to improve Kylie's streaming as a whole rather than target high peak positions. They obviously know that Kylie is never going to get a hit in the way contemporary artists do and the difference between a #45 peak or an #87 peak isn't particularly important. By having these staggered releases for each single, it gives the song the chance to build up streams over time in a way that it wouldn't if all the remixes were released at the same time. People will play on remix of the song and by the time they've tired of it, another one has come along.

In a way i get that strategy and they have outlined they are continuously working on trying to improve on streaming, in my head though if everything comes together it gets it higher up the charts which might help other people take notice and possibly stream the song to see what its like, maybe im wrong but the remixes seem to be just bought and streamed by many of the same people buying the original.
I'm not sure if any potential extra people who choose to listen to the song after seeing it high on the chart (which is a very limited amount of people given how irrelevant the official chart is to the wider public) is greater than the people who are already fans and are going to play each remix every time one is released. The staggered release strategy allows fans time to play each remix before a new one comes along and they can play that. If they were all released at once, fans aren't going to listen to each and every remix continuously.

Staggered releases enables streaming to stay high.

Look at Santa Baby. The streaming is good but its just for a month and then falls off dramatically.

There strategy is to release stuff every 4-6 weeks to keep the monthly streams up otherwise they would just be high one month then collapse the next. Hopefully some of these remixes get added to streaming playlists which also gives extra longevity streaming wise.

The 2 Dua Lipa remixes have really helped her Spotify streams stay up in the 6-7m monthly mark rather than fall to 3-4 million again

Think her monthly listeners are now in the 6-7 million range on Spotify rather than 3-4....but yes totally agree that seems to be their strategy.

500k new listeners within the last week thanks to Initial Talk remix. Impressive how it’s numbers have stayed strong. Already over a million in 5 days.

It is really good to see her streaming improve and they have ut in a lot of work to get where they are and i really applaud them for that as its not easy with artists such as Kylie and many others.
