My main point is that there are loads of female and male artists who make great music but when I listen to music I don’t do so because of what gender the artist is it’s to do with the quality of the music for me.

Yeah, I definitely see your point and I completely agree... I personally prefer female vocals but I can see the appeal for both. Obviously there have been tons of successful female artists in our time but people here are gonna root for the female artists because of the gender imbalance in the charts and cause lots of us are gay stans :lol:

My personal chart is fairly female dominated at the moment tbf Miley theee weeks at number one and Sunflower Bean at number two!! 😍

The USA Spotify Top 50 chart is virtually female free all year- 3 or 4 at most and usually Cardi B features and the occasional Billie Eilish track. Things are marginally better here at least.

I don’t think it’s second day drop will be that big either and with the album release next week it could be another long running top 10 hit for her. I think she’s finally kicked that #11 peak trend :lol:

So BTS are number one on itunes but only several songs on Spotify's chart, wonder how that will impact their album position on Friday with the likes of Neil Diamond and Michael Ball/Alfie Boe doing better physically no doubt

I personally don’t look at it that way. I see loads of female pop stars and always have done growing up and fair play to them! I think music is def one space where woman do equally as well as men. So don’t understand the ‘yay go woman’ comments all the time.

 

One of my favourite songs at the moment is by a band called Sunflower Bean who have a woman lead singer and men in the band. There’s a mix doing great stuff.

 

Maybe I just don’t look at the world in a black and white way like others.

BTS are quite strong with physicals as well though, I'd guess that they are higher than BallBoe

I knew that happened :lol: but aside from that as a lead artist she had either missed the top ten or topped the chart. And then after she scored those #1s she had yet another #11 with Malibu :lol: I think those days are done now at least for this era.

just realised Ava Max- My Head & My Heart is not in the Spotify top 200, she's at #450 now on Apple
