dear lawd, have we ever had Mariah and Wham go top 40 this early?

ridiculous that it's now normal for Christmas songs to be doing this well in the 2nd week of November, it's still too early for Christmas music imo.

glad that The Pogues are in the top 10 placed Christmas songs anyhow, looking good for them to continue their run of going top 10 every Christmas.

Maybe a pandemic and being in lockdown are big contributions :lol:

she's very high on Christmas Hits. seems to be this playlist that's having the biggest effect at the moment as the top songs on it are the ones charting (the entire top 10)

Pogues of course the massive outlier, but they of course have the advantage of being historically one of the biggest 3 Christmas hits, just unfortunate that it's an American-focused playlist that's being pushed which is why they're so low down.

The Pogues have entered the top 200 two days earlier than they did last year. Slayin

 

'pov' seems to have much more momentum behind it than '34+35' (due to being ~the chosen one~ by TikTok I guess), I wonder if there will be a quick pivot to pushing that as the next single instead.

 

I find funny that Tame Impala can have a top 200 on Spotify but Kylie never. -_-

Your response to me is to question 'Tame Impala are more popular' (which was me being obviously facetious) rather than the fact you keep equating being more popular with being better. Lol ~

Here Spotify adverts its Xmas playlist every weekend by stating "it's not too early to start listening Christmas songs". I think that is the main reason these songs have huge surges on Sundays?

it's become a bit of an Spotify classic, a bit like Mr Brightside...

but it's the same as Killers, Killers are not doing that well on Spotify, it's just their one song Mr Brightside that does

Totally here for POV to smash, what with it being one of the only decent ones on the album :D
'pov' will be a fourth top 40 hit for Ari from 'positions' a week after the album was released, an amusingly small gap, but still a post-album hit as it taking off is due to people organically latching on to it on TikTok a week later, not before or during album release week :lol:
