So Kylie got a boost from Graham and Little Mix sold consistently without major promo

 

I can’t call it - it could be either one of them

 

The Search was pretty big Friday night promo I’d have said. Very interesting battle. If it’s neck and neck come Thursday then Little Mix’s late streams boost will get them over the line, depends if Kylie can keep her nose out in front by the same margin she currently has.

They just had two tv shows about them with live performances on both nights, how is that not promo?

It wasn’t great promo for the actual album though...

 

They didn’t perform anything from the new album last night and obviously no mention of the album at all ever.

 

Obviously it’s good promo for Little Mix but I’m not sure the casual watcher would know about the new album as such.

They performed Holiday which is on the album? They got a lot of attention with the search and a lot of positive feedback! The Search two nights in a row was huge promo on primetime tv regardless.

The ratings for Graham are usually pretty good although not massive but for some reason it seems to tap into the music buying audience even more than say strictly which gets more than double the viewers.

It was two nights of an entire show dedicated to them, it doesn’t make it bad promo because people chose not to watch it!

 

Back in the day, The Sats stans could only dream of such an opportunity. They got excited over Google Hangouts and Let’s Do Lunch :cheeseblock:

I agree. The Search might not have been the success it was hoped to be but 2 million viewers is 2 million viewers, plus there was loads of news articles and social media interest after. They might not have said "hello we have an album out buy it" but people aren't idiots, I'm sure they could work out that Little Mix had something to promote.

Don’t LM have just as many vinyl? (4 different picture discs, black vinyl and the sold out splatter vinyl)

 

Kylie actually has 1 less than them (clear, blue, turquoise, black and the now sold out Spotify edition)

 

LM have/had 5 cassettes too versus 1 for Kylie

A little note ahead of today's first look show - please can we avoid spoilers for the Sunday single mids? So the show isn't spoilt for those who wish to listen! Album mids are fair game though. Thanks guys :D

Also everyone keeps saying Kylie has a ‘signed vinyl coming soon’ - this is incorrect, the ones she was signing were the white test pressing vinyl which sold out on the first day of pre-orders, the others she was signing was for the HMV competition.

 

The only ones to have done signed vinyl is LM.

Chuffed to see Kylie extend her lead slightly, even with Friday Streaming added. This is going to be such a fun week.

So, with Golden, Norton helped 7k, with Disco 4k. Gonna be super close.

Little Mix only signed Vinyl when they first launched and there was literally 500 copies max, alongside the deluxe which only had around 1,000 signed (Added them all to the basket to see haha)

 

Ahh I thought they were new Vinyl's that's a shame I was hoping to get one haha.

 

I'm actually going to order a Vinyl after this week as I actually do quite like the Album after giving it a play on Spotify.

Really proud of both artists for pulling off such great numbers with such great albums.

Could we see the highest first week sales for a number one album of 2020 this week? I really hope so!

It’s just a shame that either of these could have picked any other week to release on and they’d have easily got the number 1!
