February 18, 20214 yr I think that the initial plan was to push "Big" as the OCC article mentioned. However, it seems that this was changed and they opted with "Bang Bang" instead because of David Guetta. It's been said that his upcoming single "Heartbreak Anthem" with Little Mix and Galantis will be pushed by his team, so having two songs by him at the same time could be an issue.
February 19, 20214 yr As predictable as I am... I have completely done a U-Turn on this :') A great EP. I love all 4 tracks now. Very infectious!
February 22, 20214 yr Bang Bang was played on Radio 2 this morning as a ‘New to 2’ track! Hopefully this means that it will be added to their playlist.
February 26, 20214 yr Finally got round to listening to the EP and I love it! Big and Bang Bang are such triumphs, two of her best songs to date. Rita and Imanbek make a great team, I hope she explores more of this sound with her third album.
February 27, 20214 yr Not even a word about the disastrous commercial performance of this? Yep... Big straight out of Top 100 in second week. So that's that and it's back to waiting for the storm to blow over before trying again, I would imagine. It was a brave, if not misguided, decision to release anything right now. I'm not sure how she'll manage damage control, but releasing this wasn't it.
February 27, 20214 yr Big only got as high as it did because it also includes the downloads of the EP itself. She's gonna continue to struggle if streaming keeps on snubbing her like this, it's a huge shame but Hot Hits haven't touched her music (as lead artist) since Let You Love Me.
March 1, 20214 yr How well do you think it would it have done if Rita Ora would have decided to have her birthday party on Zoom and so the controversy never happened? Low top 40 or would it still not have done that well? Edited March 1, 20214 yr by TheSnake
March 2, 20214 yr How well do you think it would it have done if Rita Ora would have decided to have her birthday party on Zoom and so the controversy never happened? Low top 40 or would it still not have done that well? I feel like she had a bit of an uphill struggle anyway after 'How to Be Lonely', but this undoubtedly damaged her even further.
March 2, 20214 yr It def done damage but its likely the single wouldnt have done a huge amount better either, Rita is lucky that she diversified her career in the last few years so she has enough going to keep her name and face out there.
March 3, 20214 yr Really not surprised about the flop with this, her public perception is still horrendous and she needs a big break from mainstream media for a while before returning in my opinion. Gutted because I ADORE this EP :(
March 3, 20214 yr She’s performing Bang Bang on Fallon, ready for the serve!!! So much for "no label investment"... :arrr: She is a priority artist for Atlantic.
March 3, 20214 yr Much better than the Dancing on Ice performance! I'm not surprised this is flopping. On top of her negative press, they can't seem to decide if Bang Bang or Big is the single getting pushed...
