ITV released their festive highlights today, so I thought that would be a good opportunity to open this year's Christmas TV discussion thread.

The BBC is due to release their festive highlights in a couple of weeks.

ITV - full details are here.

Britain's Got Talent at Christmas

The Masked Singer (series 2)

The Story of SM:TV Live

Birds of a Feather

Beat The Chasers

The Chase: Celebrity Christmas Special

The Cube Celebrity Special

In For a Penny Christmas Special

Billy Connelly: It's Been a Pleasure...

Jennifer Saunders' Memory Lane

Who Wants to be a Millionaire

The Price Is Right

It's Clarkson on TV

The Big Quiz: Corrie v Emmerdale

Bradley Walsh's How To Win a Game Show

Gary Barlow's Night at the Museum

The Real Monty on Ice

Gordon, Gino and Fred: Desperately Seeking Santa

Stephen Fry’s 21st Century Firsts

Dancing on Thin Ice with Torvill & Dean

Happy Birthday Mr Bean

The Savoy at Christmas

ITV seem to have made more of an effort than last year, which was basically entirely soaps, quizzes and films. It's Clarkson on TV sounds like a rip-off of Charlie Brooker's show on the BBC

For the first time, ITV is also planning to air Good Morning Britain, Lorraine and This Morning on Christmas Day (!)

Nice to hear ITV are switching things up a bit - I've heard rumours that BGT at Christmas is airing on Christmas Day, could this top the ratings for that day?
Looks like The Price Is Right is coming back for a full blown series sometime in the new year, unless its just a Christmas special, I just hope its not Alan Carr hosting it.

Isn't it just the Alan's Epic Gameshow Christmas special?

Why on earth are they having GMB and This Morning on Xmas day? Them shows usually stop on the final Friday before Xmas and then come back on 6th January.

The government has just said that ministers will be ending their boycott of the programme. What's the betting Johnson will appear on Christmas Day?

Do the government not boycott all news programmes? They never have anyone for Ch4 News

The real question is who do they expect to wake up at 6 AM just to watch that programme on Christmas day?

I can see the logic - Christmas Day will likely be very different this year with people being more isolated than usual. Having the usual morning faces will offer some comfort and familiarity for those in that situation.

Well that’s a good point.

Can’t see children wanting to watch it, always thought that’s why they always showed something like Santa Claus the movie and the like from 8-12pm

I don't think it's ever been said that Piers Morgan brings comfort to people. :kink:

First details of 'The Big New Year's In' on BBC One replacing the usual NYE concert and fireworks in London:

Since it is unlikely people will be able to go to big parties and gatherings, BBC One plans to do all it can to help people celebrate at home by creating a unique New Year’s Eve night of programming - The Big New Year’s In. A live entertainment show will run throughout the evening packed with famous faces, and an unforgettable concert leads up to a very special midnight celebration that the BBC has exclusive access to. BBC Scotland celebrates a special Hogmanay 2020, hosted by Susan Calman.

Thank god hate that concert they show!

Jools is the go to for NYE for me
