November 29, 20205 yr Not that I wish to dampen the enthusiasm but the gap will likely only grow between Ariana and LM once streaming data is fully added
November 29, 20205 yr Looking at Amazon’s charts, the Bieber song is currently #11 on Amazon Music Unlimited and #9 on Amazon Music Prime (where most of the Alexa streams come from). So, the track is currently #8 in the midweeks, this either means Amazon have a much bigger market share than predicted or Amazon are providing incorrect data.
November 29, 20205 yr Putting down other artists doesn't make your favourite better. Even though I'm very glad Positions is still at the top I kinda wish she slipped a little bit further down to just take a break from all these drama queens daily reminding us how terrible the song is, apparently. People are entitled to express a different opinion to you without being labelled a drama queen. I don’t like positions neither so obviously there is quite a few people in the same boat which says something in itself!
November 29, 20205 yr Reading online that Sweet Melody is only 593 behind Ariana come on LM Come on Little Mix!!! :w00t: I want Steps and Little Mix at #1 at the end of the week... watch them both #2
November 29, 20205 yr Ariana sold 10k more than Little Mix last week so I'm expecting the gap to grow more and more throughout the week unless they have some kind of massive out of the blue push.
November 30, 20205 yr Looking at Amazon’s charts, the Bieber song is currently #11 on Amazon Music Unlimited and #9 on Amazon Music Prime (where most of the Alexa streams come from). So, the track is currently #8 in the midweeks, this either means Amazon have a much bigger market share than predicted or Amazon are providing incorrect data. People pointed this out last year as well - the First Look position for these Amazon exclusives is very inflated because Amazon report their streaming data faster than the other major streaming platforms, so they essentially have double weighting. Amazon streams are all also at the 100:1 level which inherently gives them more weight than Spotify streams. They will fall over the week as the playing field evens out. (Also don't forget there are other songs ahead of them that are on ACR ofc). The only thing that really gives me doubts about the legitimacy of Amazon's streaming figures is the absurd total Ellie got the week she got to #1 which seems implausible unless the song was literally playing 10 times a day for everyone using Alexa for Christmas music that week or something.
November 30, 20205 yr Does anyone have the peak positions each year for Michael Buble Christmas album ?

November 30, 20205 yr I'm sorry but saying a certain song isn't your favorite is one thing (something we've all gotten used to considering the hissy fit the same several members have every week), but to claim that an artist is undeserving of the top spot is uncalled for when their song has been the genuine #1 (with ACR or not) every week until now. Even worse is to discredit their success by attributing it to a totally unrelated traumatic event years ago.

Thank you for the info, this will def get to 4 million at some point, it's amazing how successful it is every year coming on 10 years now.

Thank you for the info, this will def get to 4 million at some point, it's amazing how successful it is every year coming on 10 years now. It seems to be the one Michael Buble album that non-Michael Buble fans will listen to. I imagine a fair number of its sales each year are derived from streams. That might account for the number 12 blip in 2015 as that was the year when streaming sales had just been added to the album chart but they were generally not enough to affect the albums chart in a big way. At that point 'Christmas' had long passed its peak in terms of seasonal sales.

I don’t like positions neither so obviously there is quite a few people in the same boat which says something in itself! Yep, it says that a few people on a forum don't like a massive hit single that's mean no1 for multiple weeks
November 30, 20205 yr Just reading back, did someone really day the Manchester bombing killing all them people helped her with Positions?! Actually in disbelief. A, because she has had lots of songs since nowhere near as big as this and b, what a stupid insensitive comment.
November 30, 20205 yr What does an Amazon exclusive mean in terms of streaming? You can literally only listen to the song on Amazon Music? and that lasts until after Xmas or just a week?
November 30, 20205 yr Gosh Steps going all out with the cassettes! https://townsendmusic.store/cart/product.php?id=69664
November 30, 20205 yr the Amazon exclusivity lasts 1 year actually that applied to Katy Perry-Cozy Little Xmas, after 1 year it was added to Spotify etc but not sure with River... it was on Spotify for a while a few weeks ago but then was taken down so not sure anymore :) Edited November 30, 20205 yr by Bjork
