Yes, occasionally in the past old hits have resurfaced in the charts as a result of being reissued but not every year. It’s the product of streaming popularity which see’s in reach the T5 singles chart every Christmas. Unless the charts company change the rules, it will largely continue to happen every year!

 

That’s the case with all hits nowadays though.

Compared to the quality of the album, What's Your Pleasure? and Roisin Machine should have been more successful.

when i mean Dua’s album should’ve been more successful i mean internationally and not just in the Uk....

Pretty impressed at how much longevity AC/DC still have - are they just proving to be a popular Xmas present for dads or something :thinking: :lol:

 

Yeh I thought it would be 1-18-40 but I guess that phenomena kind of goes out the window to an extent in the last two months of the year because physical products increase a lot and continue to sell. To get 15k on it’s third week is brilliant!

AC/DC are like Bruce a huge act loved by millions its not the Christmas effect they were always going to be a big seller, and they are physical sellers too.

I kind of knew that but figured it would be a huge first week seller rather than throughout the season!
So frustrating to have mariah number 2. At least be 3rd and lose it. Her streams for yesterday were much higher than Ariana so hopefully next week otherwise I give up caring.

What’s the highest first week opening on the album chart this year?

 

I miss those days of 100,200,300k opening week sales!

Gary Barlow, Steps and Kylie all Top 10, happy to see this, Gary should come close to 45k and Steps i think are very safe now for Number 2 with very respectable sales, Kylie has blown me away this week with how well she is holding up and with really great sales for week 4.

cant believe I'm gonna say this but GO ARIANA even your trashy song is better than MC
