My biggest issue with 'I Hope' is the production/mixing, it sounds so hideously compressed that it actually kind of hurts my ears at some parts :') and I'm not usually one to even notice differences in audio quality so for even me to take issue to that it really must be bad. Admittedly I've only heard the song on YouTube so it might just be worse on there than on other platforms but I've seen other people commenting on mixing issues on the song as well so it's not just me!

 

(anyway that's quite enough posts about that song in this thread from me, let's not manifest it being a song we need to worry about being in the chart)

If Mariah is #1 again tomorrow, at least she's registered a top 200 placing for each day of Spotify data they'll use.

Sorry if this isn't the right thread, I'm just wondering since Sweet Melody is #1 on Amazon music and Confetti is #1 too in the albums chart, will that have some kind of impact on the official charts or are amazon's streaming numbers too low compared to Spotify and Apple Music?

NMF Aus & NZ has a mix of tracks from the last 2 weeks, with Afterglow at #5. So that should get a NMF boost

Yeah I think they're intent on keeping it at around 75+ tracks each week during this slow period. As someone who has to type up new release schedules, I'm glad they're keeping the playlist add dates separate so as to make it easier to follow what's actually new :lol:

Whoopty is the main contender for next week's number 1 if positions doesn't get a reset.

 

I didn't like Whoopty at first but it has now grown on me. :P

Yeah I’d say especially due to it being a NYE where everyone is indoors we should see much higher streams than even a normal NYE boost so I’d say tomorrow’s Spotify chart will be full of older “party” hits
