December 19, 20204 yr Author Semi Spreadsheets Final Spreadsheet Thanks so much to everyone who made this contest possible, it was so much fun getting to be on this side of things and I made some really good (and surprising) discoveries! This made 2020 just a *little* more bearable. Here's to another year of BJSC!
December 19, 20204 yr My 3rd top 10 in a single year :cheeseblock: I'm more than happy about that. Great way to finish the year :cheer: AMAZING winner. Congrats Land of DW! Great hosting thoughout Cody as well.
December 19, 20204 yr Blimey...Altyr’s semi result! The whole end of year victory rested on a single point in the semi! Just as well I threw them one ;p
December 19, 20204 yr Author Some interesting things to note about the semis and final: - it was WILD watching both in real time. During the semis we had a few countries in both semis fighting for that qualification and it came down to literally the LAST VOTE. - idk who Jake should blame for his DNQ: himself for pointing Numayania (possibly shooting himself in the foot) or Math's late votes for pushing Quintessa and Trifoski above him! Why So Sirius pushed Altyr above the line in the other semi! - the finals were just as wild as I saw Scherzland take the lead a couple times when I was inputting everything and it literally came down to the last vote as well! Jacob was the last voter and pushed Land of DW to the top spot! (he also pushed me out of the top 10, I'll be taking that into account later) I think if Jack had voted Scherzland could have won. That's how intense it was.
December 19, 20204 yr Congratulations Land Of DW, an excellent winner, feels so nice to listen to and I'm very glad it won over Scherzland which I didn't like very much at all. gah if only three more people had pushed me a point and I could have ruined Altyr's day :( also I'm a near-perfect prophet when predicting deductions:
December 19, 20204 yr i think if jack had voted - we may have swung this cause it would be just up his street! either way, thanks so much for all the votes, especially the big ones (all those 18’s ) despite some spiky + visceral comments along the way, it’s been really enjoyable watching it all unfold. it may be nice for some of you to remember that just because a song may not be your favourite, it isn’t any less worthy of points or doing well. huge thanks for all your effort cody + well done to land of dw, that was quite the race towards the end!
December 19, 20204 yr Oh blimey I was 2 points off DNQing?! Well 19th in the final is an amazing turnaround then!
December 19, 20204 yr Author also BOO at my prediction/tiny manifestation of Caerfyrddia being a contender not turning out in the end :(
December 19, 20204 yr Omg Lewis my saviour!!! A disappointing result for me overall this month but I at least didn't fall short of my final goalpost shift, by the skin of my teeth. Does indeed look like Land of DW have held on but will wait until we have a confirmed final scoreboard just in case. x I actually predicted #23 for your entry during plug :kink: I'll take 24th for Harper but sad to see loosing my YTD Top 10 for like 20+ points :( Maybe I shouldn't have switched last minute to Harper...shoulda coulda woulda!!!
December 19, 20204 yr ALTYR! thank you for 13th for Alice Deejay, was round about what I was hoping for optimistically! 8 Top 15s this year, cannot sniff at that, and my 8th year in the YTD Top 3 ^_^ Some fantastic entries. THANK YOU to Dandy* for an absolutely astonishing discovery. Thrilled to see that in the top 10! Glad to see Klum Rep not be (too) overhyped for once!! Great winner.

December 19, 20204 yr BRUH if ONLY bc the song you did send previously probably would have smashed SEND IT NEXT CONTEST I got carried away because right before the deadline Harper gave me a win in Ukmix Song Contest and I had a 'oh this could actually do well in BJSC as well' moment :kink: And this is the first time that I actually sent the same song in 2 different forum contests...I guess this should teach me not to do that again!!!
December 19, 20204 yr I'm fine with 33rd because I wasn't even expecting to qualify!! Thank you SO much Trifoski for the 18, was not expecting to nab one this contest!! I just thought I'd get lots of lower points so thank you x very happy to see dw snatch the win as well.
December 19, 20204 yr Thanks Cody for hosting and I think that's the highest points I've gotten in the finals so far? I hope for the best next year! ;)

Yeah I think you might well be right about Jack, oops! I always point out that results from plug.dj are pretty disproportionately biased against pure pop songs just because of who happens to make up the active audience there, and I think the same is true of the forum as a whole (to a lesser extent) - sorry if you felt disheartened by people rooting against your song but of course at the end of the day every participant's voice is heard equally in the actual results where it matters, just seems that a lot of the support for '4:15' came from people who don't post a lot / at all! As I'm sure you could have guessed '4:15' wasn't my cup of tea but it inserted some much appreciated drama seeing it close the gap so dramatically and rapidly in the last third of the votes, and I always like seeing different countries to the usual suspects seeing success here, so on that note a big congrats to Scherzland achieving their first ever medal position - would have been a rather memorable moment if you had clutched a seemingly wildly unlikely winner in the last minute! (Very reminiscent of Joseph doing similarly with CXLOE last year)
December 19, 20204 yr YAY, amazing, FINALLY a winner I really love, has to be the best one this year (I've admittedly forgot a lot of them already, but I don't think I've given that high to another winner this year), it wasn't far from my 18 and could've easily been there! A beautiful song and so pleased to see BJSC into this new age kind of thing, congrats Frank! :cheer: Would've been nice to be a little higher, but I suppose for what was ultimately something I sent as a 'ooh I wonder what plug will make of this', it could've gone worse. Thanks for all who embraced the madness, and if you liked this, do check out his channel where there is a whole manner of symphonic metal covers and not all as insane as this one! Excellent to see Fljotavik and Kluminican Republic in the top 10. I didn't expect Tartford there, but I loved it, much the same glorious peaceful vibes as the winner. Thanks for hosting, Cody, really loved this contest. Guess I'll see you all back here in 2021, Merry Christmas B-)
