December 21, 20205 yr https://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/p...ney-iii__31908/ Sir Paul McCartney is on course for his first UK Number 1 album as a soloist in over three decades with McCartney III. The Beatles legend’s 18th solo studio album is the third and final chapter in a trilogy of albums including his debut album McCartney from 1970 and McCartney II which followed ten years later in 1980; the former reached Number 2 on the Official Albums Chart, with the latter charting at Number 1. See where all Paul McCartney’s singles and albums charted. McCartney III scored almost 25,000 chart sales over the weekend and may mark the artist’s first solo Number 1 album since 1989’s Flowers in the Dirt. The Official Christmas Number 1 single and album of 2020 will be revealed exclusively on BBC Radio 1’s The Official Chart on Christmas Day, from 2-4pm. Also battling for the Christmas Number 1 album are Michael Ball and Alfie Boe with Together at Christmas (2), Taylor Swift with last week’s chart-topper Evermore (3), Classic Diamonds from Neil Diamond and the London Symphony Orchestra (4), and Gary Barlow’s Music Played By Humans (5). Following the surprise release of the album’s B Side deluxe edition, Eminem’s Number 1 album Music To Be Murdered By – first released in January 2020 – is on track for a Top 40 return at Number 6. Alternative rock band Shed Seven are on track for their sixth Top 40 album with live album Another Night, Another Town (12) and following his performance during the Strictly Come Dancing final last Saturday (Dec. 19), Robbie Williams’ holiday album The Christmas Present is heading back to the Top 40 (27).
December 21, 20205 yr Only 27 for Robbie after some big promo! Not a great second year for his Xmas album, looks like Buble will be the go to album for another decade. 25k for Paul not bad, could push to 40-45k?

December 21, 20205 yr Holy has been combined lmao. Would the extra sales from this week potentially lead to it getting reset from ACR next week?
December 21, 20205 yr Mariah and wham back ahead of jess! the Kunts at 8 :o Looks like Jess will get a 4-5 peak now
December 21, 20205 yr eek, not sure if 25k gives Paul McCartney enough of a lead :( It's likely to be frontloaded, so with Ball & Boe selling more as the week goes on I can see them overtaking. Edit: that was before I saw Ball & Boe were on less than 10k. Macca should be fine then. Edited December 21, 20205 yr by jimwatts
December 21, 20205 yr If there weren’t any Christmas songs, charity songs or novelty songs in the midweeks, then this would be the top 10 in the midweeks: 1) positions 2) Sweet Melody 3) Whoopty 4) 34+35 5) Midnight Sky 6) Prisoner 7) Get Out My Head 8) WITHOUT YOU 9) willow 10) Paradise I’m not including Holy in there because there’s a remix with the NHS choir, and it counts as a charity single. December 21, 20205 yr Holy has been combined lmao. Would the extra sales from this week potentially lead to it getting reset from ACR next week? I thought to reset it needs to increase in streams not sales
December 21, 20205 yr Holy has been combined lmao. Would the extra sales from this week potentially lead to it getting reset from ACR next week? From what I've seen, it's streams haven't changed much - still #70-ish on Spotify - so don't think it'll be enough for a reset Edit: although it also depends how much the new version is doing on streaming, as we don't know how far outside the Spotify top 200 it is, so when combined it could still be enough. December 21, 20205 yr I thought to reset it needs to increase in streams not sales Ah yeah you may be right actually. Can’t remember if it’s overall units or just streaming
December 21, 20205 yr Liam falling 5-11 already so I would def take 35-40 for it this week at this stage, if it’s top 20 in tomorrow’s potential mids he will be fine! Becky only at 45, probably fall too! Thought ‘Snowman’ would have been higher than ‘Santa’s Coming For Us’!
