December 21, 20205 yr crazy low sales in albums B&B not even on 10K at #2 is a disaster for the UK music industry Macca benefiting from the multiformating it seems
December 21, 20205 yr Wow the Kunts shot right up from last night - it'd be great if it could stay top 10 somehow.
December 21, 20205 yr Mariah being 66,697 copies behind LadBaby. Yeah, she won’t be #1 this Friday. You don't say, good call Sherlock  :P
December 21, 20205 yr Wow the Kunts shot right up from last night - it'd be great if it could stay top 10 somehow. It would be quite the moment!
December 21, 20205 yr If there weren’t any Christmas songs, charity songs or novelty songs in the midweeks, then this would be the top 10 in the midweeks: 1) positions 2) Sweet Melody 3) Whoopty 4) 34+35 5) Midnight Sky 6) Prisoner 7) Get Out My Head 8) WITHOUT YOU 9) willow 10) Paradise I’m not including Holy in there because there’s a remix with the NHS choir, and it counts as a charity single. If my grandma had wheels she'd be a bike ❤️
December 21, 20205 yr Well I can't see him finishing on anything less than 120k this week, If he was on 80k yesterday, We will have to see what his sales are like today. But with the remix out today I can see him pushing over 130k this week. We will know by Wednesdays midweeks should give a clear look at what the remix is selling and totals. Maybe, I just assumed he’d be very frontloaded
December 21, 20205 yr I’m more than happy for Mariah to make way for what I’m assuming is a novelty single for a good cause. Dire album sales. I had no idea about the Boris song until now 😂
December 21, 20205 yr Top 5 album sales from Monday 16th December 2019 for comparison: 1 Harry Styles (28.4k) 2 Rod Stewart & the RPO (28.4k - 53 copies behind) 3 Stormzy (26.2k) 4 Robbie Williams (14.5k) 5 Coldplay (13.8k)
December 21, 20205 yr From what I've seen, it's streams haven't changed much - still #70-ish on Spotify - so don't think it'll be enough for a reset Edit: although it also depends how much the new version is doing on streaming, as we don't know how far outside the Spotify top 200 it is, so when combined it could still be enough. The Holy version with the NHS choir has not even made the top 1500 on Apple
December 21, 20205 yr I wasnt expecting Paul McCartney to be number 1 by so much, i was sure Taylor Swift wold easily be number 1.
December 21, 20205 yr Also just wanted to say that Afterglow by Ed Sheeran is utterly divine; the best thing he’s done in years! Really hope this snatched the number one off of that awful LadBaby track.
December 21, 20205 yr Ed is not going to come remotely close to LadBaby, he'd need absurd streaming numbers to overcome the pure sales advantage (even if he had a full week which of course he doesn't). Happy to see Paul McCartney on course to be comfortably #1 on the albums! And lmaooo at The Kunts being up to #8 now. Maybe it could yet follow 'Liar Liar' to a top 5 peak.
December 21, 20205 yr I’d rather let LadBaby have his third consecutive Xmas #1 and for Ed to have the first #1 of 2021
December 21, 20205 yr Why can’t Ed get the number one? Is it virtually impossible? Well - LadBaby did sell over 86k copies in its first 3 days. And a new version of the song with Ronan Keating came out today, and that will sell a lot. So therefore, LadBaby will be #1 this week basically over everyone else in the charts, and not just Ed.
