December 29, 20204 yr Author The time to get this to #1 is coming! I need my lambs to get blood-thirsty and brutal!
December 29, 20204 yr I dunno about the UK, but Kenny G hit #7 in the US w his version of Auld Lang Syne at the turn of the millennium (spliced w audio clips of important events in the 20th century, naturally) as far as new year's songs tho, my perennial favorite is this one: ii6kJaGiRaI "I'm gonna make it through this year if it kills me" becomes uh more relevant with each passing year, but also maybe overplaying it at the start of this year set off a curse
December 31, 20204 yr Mariah should make a song for every special day, St Patrick’s Day, International Women’s Day, Talk Like a Pirate Day etc.

December 31, 20204 yr I dunno about the UK, but Kenny G hit #7 in the US w his version of Auld Lang Syne at the turn of the millennium (spliced w audio clips of important events in the 20th century, naturally) We had something similar here in the UK. Cliff Richard sang The Lord's Prayer to the tune of “Auld Lang Syne” - unimaginably bad - it was his attempt to get a number 1 straddling the millennium and to get number 1 hits in the 1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. It did actually get to number 1 and for the time it was there nobody could work out who was actually buying the single, it also confounded the predictions of Craig David and Artful Dodger debut hit “Re-Rewind (The Crowd Say Bo Selecta)” which was expected to be a #1 but had to settle for 3 weeks at number 2. I hadn't heard the Kenny G 'hit', but having sought it out I fully agree with this review: If you love the sound of Bill Clinton admitting to a BJ put over elevator music, then this is the song for you!
December 31, 20204 yr Was the Cliff song not number one because of the news paper front pages reporting he wasn't being played on Radio 2s playlist for the first time or something, this lead to a lot more sales I would say.
