So we're basically left with one seat to fill in the other alfa. Probably will know by the end of September as apparently they've given Gio 3 races to save his seat.
There's growing momentum to suggest that Alfa will announce Guanyu Zhou as their other driver soon

Red Bull have confirmed that Albon has been released from his contract with them (so yes Mercedes won) but they retain first option on him.

Albon previously partnered Latifi in the 2018 F2 season (where he comprehensively thrashed him), which could make an interesting, if statistically unreliable, comparison between himself and George Russell (and by extension between Lewis and Max)

Yeah, I read an article that said a Chinese firm has offer €30m to secure his seat... Such is the rumour mill!

Either way, it feels likely that the second Alfa will be one of Zhou, De Vries or Giovinazzi (maybe an unlikely outside chance of it being Illott).

Yeah, this is a rumour that actually seems a bit far fetched. Not the offer of 30m, that seems quite possible and a Chineses driver in F1 has huge commercial appeal for the sponsors. It's just the other reports that say De Vries signed a contract on Monday.

Right now, who knows?

Stroll would be pretty much confirmed at Aston Martin.

The final seat between:

Guanyu Zhou

Nico Hulkenberg

Nick De Vries

Antonio Giovanizzi

Calum Ilott

Nikita Mazepin (According to him)

Robert Shwartzman

Mick Schumacher

Daniil Kvyat (Very outside chance)

I don't see Hulkenberg or Kvyat being in the frame realistically and if Shwartzman and Ilot are I'd be surprised. Alfa have their experienced team leader with Bottas and the other two haven't been stellar as yet. Pourchaire is a better bet than either right now and I think it's too soon for him as well

Personally I think Alpine have the best young driver options with Lundegard and Piastri but the team has no friends to help them progress

Kubica set to continue at the Italian Grand Prix in replacement for Raikkonen.
oh missed yesterday! forgot they were doing the sprint thing again

Bottas on Pole then gets a whole new PU to start from the back

*insert Cardi B how convenient is that gif*

And then the dipshit f***s up his platter served up pole because he’s a mediocre driver in an incredible machine and got smoked off the start 🤣🤣🤣

Unlucky for Gasly and Kubica. Gasly had a great start and had the measure of mediocre man and then Kubica getting taken out by a typhoon

Looks very much like HALO just saved Hamilton's life
Yep amazed that nobody was hurt in that, just shows how fantastic the safety is these days
I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone constantly hate someone so much as you seem to hate Lewis!
What can I say, I take pride in my consistency. He shut the door on Max knowing he was there and unlike his attempted murder at Silverstone, this time he paid the price for his own petulance and lack of sportsmanship 🤷🏼‍♂️
I think they were both just driving to try and stay ahead, I honestly don't know how you can blame one more than the other there - it looked to me like Lewis was ahead into the corner?
It takes two to tango but you don’t shut the door at that corner without 1) the driver on the inside having to take to the kerbs or 2) an accident.

Lewis was ahead slightly but Max was almost completely alongside and had the inside line. Lewis tried to shut the door with Max halfway though it. He had earned the right to more room.

Lewis more at fault here. Not convinced it warrants a penalty but does again question Hamilton's judgement

What concerned me far more was Lewis trying to reverse out from under Max's car whilst the Dutchman trying trying to get out. Potentially very dangerous

Max found to be predominantly at fault. 3 place grid penalty.

For me it's a racing incident still

Expect him to take new engine at Russia as it should be a tough weekend either way
