I have to say one of these is probably one of the most obvious vetoes I've seen since becoming a mod, maybe 2nd only to BLACKPINK's 'Lovesick Girls' :kink:

I am curious to see if out of those three vetoes is one I am expecting (the one I thought I should try and send it but screams veto)

I feel the need to point out that this was New Zealand's "hot singles" chart, which is essentially their "bubbling under" chart and not their official top 40. (Not sure if that makes a difference in this case but it wasn't my entry anyway *takes off International Charts mod hat* :P)

Wouldn't have made any difference as that wasn't a significant factor in it being vetoed ~ (but ty for the fact check anyway)

Going through some potentials, and my top choice rn is actually a high energy dance track from 16 years ago. Gonna think some more on it and confirm in a bit.

Edit - all of the songs I have could be potential vetoes and I don't wanna risk another one. I'll get searching.

Coincidentally the track I'm entering is my 11th song that has either the artist or song title in all caps :lol: 11 out of 28 entries!

 

Edit: also unrelated but it seems I misread the rules a while ago I thought you weren't allowed to submit an artist you had previously sent to the contest at all, but it actually just means you can't send the same artist you sent in the last BJSC :lol:

I wasn't here when that song was all the rage, so I had no idea it was so popular 😂 I might start checking the multichart archive in the future, just in case.

I was fully expecting someone to try to confirm Feel The Love, wasn't sure if it would be vetoed or not though.
