Two personal chart hits of mine now vetoed! Julie Bergan and Caroline Polachek! Completely forgot I was doing a chart erratically in 2019 for Caroline so thanks for reminding me :lol:

 

 

I've changed my entry from a placeholder that I wasn't particularly sold on to a beauty that's been helping me through this latest lockdown news!

Love the vetoed Daði Freyr and Julie Bergan tracks, and I mostly just love these two artists generally, the latter seems to have generic playlist Spotipop down to a tee. It's not the sort of thing I spend much time listening to at all, but her ear for a melody is quite something.

Edit: also unrelated but it seems I misread the rules a while ago I thought you weren't allowed to submit an artist you had previously sent to the contest at all, but it actually just means you can't send the same artist you sent in the last BJSC :lol:

 

There are a couple of countries whose discography consists practically 50% of self-recycled artists :basil:

The original of 'So Hot You're Hurting My Feelings' was a top 3 hit for me in 2019 (I haven't really been that sold on most of Caroline's output but that song is great), I have heard the remix as well and it is not as good as the original. I also like the vetoed songs from King Princess (another artist I haven't cared for much but this song was a step in the right direction) and Jayda G, not heard 'Feel The Love' yet but I will do soon!

Oh, that's a bit harsh for “Both Of Us”.

eek! so many vetoes, I was hoping to enter my current chart-topper but I see 3 previous artist entries in BJSC for them so back to the oldies most likely!

^ assuming you're referring to 'Make U Stay', that also was entered to the Pop Forum Song Contest the other month and came 2nd, so yeah it would definitely not be getting through :kink:

Yes that's the one, well at least it shows I've got FABULOUS taste in music if it came second :lol:

 

I've gone for a record that was a total flop before everyone in the contest (virtually) was born, yet is 100% soul classic. I've tried it out on my niece and partner who hated it (many years ago) so the signs are good :lol: Mind you, one of them likes Nickelback. That's all I will say..... :heehee:

Tbh I would have sent Feel The Love if I thought it had a chance of making it through veto :lol:

I’m clearly very out of touch with what is and isn’t veto-worthy these days, pretty despicable for a former mod, but then that was the main reason why I stepped down :lol: Most of what was being vetoed was completely unknown to me, and it’s still the same now! I’ve made some great discoveries from the veto list alone since rejoining the contest.

 

Time to think of another entry then!

Sending something Icelandic this time. Potentially my first DNQ since 2019 but I had to send it at some point!

So, I’m stuck between going with my 16-year-old high energy dance song or a modern song that I want to send as a sort-of test of personal BJSC theories.
