Two more non-top 20 hits also advance - renforshort who came 21st, and Marie Davidson & L'Œil Nu who came 22nd and swiftly give Numayania some better news after losing their other song in the last post. There are a few more sub-20 point scorers in this quarter-final (all post-deduction), none of which should be too surprising.

And to think if it hadn't had the deduction in its original contest it would have been auto-qualifying to the semi-finals here! Kathaldazia put in a good showing considering they didn't make the top 30 with either of their entries in their original contests, but Pascal Letoublon heartbreakingly ends up falling just 1 point short of advancing. Meanwhile, Arcodesia seem to have gone AWOL again here after voting in the first round, but nonetheless they have at least one song in the next round as My Nu Leng is through. Satisfyingly both 'City Lights' and 'City In Lights' advance together. Observant viewers may have noted that I have been going through all the songs that qualified in their original contests first; we'll be going back to Quarter-Final 1 next to see which DNQs have made it through a second TBO round. Lotunia 126 // Skall 121 // Scherzland 124 // (*) :jump: Which leaves the following going home... 29th (53 points) Summericia 124 // 27th (56 points) Rolloland 128 // 26th (56 points) Oslol 130 // (*) 25th (60 points) Niceland 122 // 21st (64 points) Suedeonia 129 // :nocheer: Skall are now 2 for 3 on qualifiers through the quarter-finals and with Instinct still in play from QF2 will they maintain a full house? Scherzland have the only DNQ to make it through with a deduction from this quarter-final - out of those with a deduction, Javiera Mena would, like Kat Cunning, have scraped through on a tiebreak if not for being deducted. Sad to see Nation Of Language just missing out, although it's by a 7 point margin this time so not as close as Pascal Letoublon was. Now to inspect Quarter-Final 2's DNQs. Here's how they did, to be filled in in the last two results posts (there were as many as 7 that qualified here, so in all there are 12 songs in the semi-finals vying to repeat Cavetown's feat of making it all the way to the TBO final from the qualifiers last year). République d'Áskorza 130 // FARC 130 // Land of DW 129 // :jump: And the penultimate set of exits... 35th (22 points) Summericia 128 // 33rd (33 points) Ojnoj 130 // (*) 32nd (34 points) Hushkanukia 128 // (*) 31st (36 points) Aeroche 123 // :nocheer: Like Holland-Oats, they have lost their best performing qualifier but République d'Áskorza march onwards to the semi-final thanks to their reject contender. Land of DW manage to make it 1 for 2 on their rejects, but it's sadly an underwhelming outcome for Summericia who have lost both of theirs, with Elliot Lee somehow ending up with the lowest pre-deduction score of any song across both quarter-finals despite only just missing the final of its original contest. Ouchies. At least Summericia will still have KAS:ST representing them in the semi-finals of course!

Meanwhile Wholune are the third country whose last remaining song in the competition is a DNQ, as Kelsy Karter also joins SG Lewis in the distinction of making it through the quarter-finals despite a deduction. Frandoot die as they lived, with Chappell Roan once again denied advancement due to a deduction; Dynazty would also have made it if not for the lost 15 points (though Quintessa still have some representation left with YooA making it through QF1). January 12, 20214 yr Wow I only lost five across both semis and none more than double figures, that has to be one of the best TBO results ever for me? *.* I swear I'm used to losing like half of my votes, maybe it'll happen next round. Shame about Nation of Language, Duo Teslar and Javiera Mena though, all wonderful.
