Posted February 7, 20214 yr Okay, so we've had Wonder for a couple of months now and we've been able to let the dust settle a bit, so here's the big question. Which Shawn album is your favourite? Vote in the poll and post your rankings below! For me: 1. Wonder - I don't even think this is just recency, but this is most definitely his most accomplished album to date. It's varied but tied together cohesively (Monster aside) and no majorly weak moments. 2. Shawn Mendes - I think this was sort-of the blueprint for Wonder, the progression from the acoustic first two albums to something with more depth lyrically and production-wise. Not every song is amazing but I think it's a very strong album! 3. Illuminate - I remember finding this samey on first listen but sticking with it helped so many songs shine in their own right. It's a bit of a continuation of Handwritten but I think it does most things better. 4. Handwritten - a cute debut, it does what it does well but it's clear it was only laying the foundations for Shawn's career.
February 7, 20214 yr Exact same ordering for me too, similar reasonings too, although I think I may have found 'Illuminate' a bit more boring than you would find it aha. Wonder > Shawn Mendes >>> Illuminate >> Handwritten
February 13, 20214 yr 1. Shawn Mendes 2. Wonder 3. Illuminate 4. Handwritten I think Wonder is his most consistent album, but the highs on Shawn Mendes are a little better and so just edges out Wonder for me.
