Some people on Digital Spy are saying that this programme hasn't done well in the ratings since the celebrity version started and that it might be better off as a boxset on All4, one person even speculated as to whether it would get taken off the air after this. I hope they are all wrong as this programme is one of the best in recent years in my opinion and the format leaves me wanting more. I enjoyed the celebrity version also.

Yeh I agree that the first couple of episodes of The Circle are the worst as it’s all a bit awkward, it’s reliant on the bonds between the players and the alliances that start to develop! The first blocking is always just a roll of the dice.

 

Saying that, the cast aren’t wowing me like previous series but we’ll see how it develops. Really interesting twist, which shows a lot of mileage in the format!, not show how well it will work but they’ll be a lot of fun that comes with it.

I think they’re being quite dramatic as it’s been doing slightly better than the first couple of series. The first series performed quite badly but the second and celebrity one have performed quite average for the timeslot, nothing amazing though. Last night’s episode was higher than the Celebrity final but it’ll have been boosted by Bake Off.

 

I imagine it does well on All4 and it’ll bring in a lot of younger viewers which helps with advertising. Plus they’ve sold the format to Netflix who have produced a few international versions which, pre-Covid, filmed at the same apartments so if that’s still going to happen, they’ll be saving/earning money from it which should in theory make series cheaper to make.

I do wish it’d become more popular in general, I get really obsessed and honestly can’t understand why others don’t :lol:

I feel like it would benefit from a Netflix style bingeand just put on All4 or something. The Circle USA did quite well on Netflix earlier on in the year!

I though she’d pick Penny because it’s so easy. It says a lot about James that Yolanda couldn’t bring herself to clone Gemma because of the job.

I think it would be quite hard to be clone Gemma as she’s currently the most popular player so it would be hard to know what conversations or alliances she/he already has and also obviously the job Gemma supposedly have . I think picking Tally who is in the middle of the pack currently was a good choice !

Yeah I'm confused, I'm guessing maybe it's leading up to either Tally or Yolanda (for good) being blocked depending on if they pick the right Tally as the "real" one, which I guess could be good. I suppose if Yolanda stays, she can be Tally for good until she goes.

So say if Yolanda manages to get Tally out wouldn’t Tally just say in her video message that she was the real one thus exposing Yolanda ? Unless she wouldn’t get a video message .

I get the feeling that the Orange Tally is going to get found out and leave before the real Tally, it's funny seeing the real tally losing her shit though :lol:
