September 12, 20213 yr This is really good. I like quite a few of the tracks. Will likely be playing this on repeat for a bit!
September 12, 20213 yr It’s a good album - hasn’t got me on the first list the way that ‘Golden Hour’ did though. Love that there has been a bit more focus on the UK market this time with signed Amazon CDs etc., hopefully it will do as well as GH done here.
September 16, 20213 yr It’s a good album - hasn’t got me on the first list the way that ‘Golden Hour’ did though. This is my reaction too after one listen-through. It's a solid album as a whole, great lyrics as always, but only a couple songs stood out on their own whereas Golden Hour had several. 'there is a light' was the most instant by far and 'simple times' has been stuck in my head the most. Hoping a few more will grow on me!
September 16, 20213 yr i hadn't heard anything of hers prior... but this is such a good body of work.
September 21, 20213 yr I adore this. The title track is such a perfect opener, can’t get enough of that. So many highlights throughout, but my favourites are probably cherry times, simple times, what doesn’t kill me, there is a light (that flute!). I’m not quite sure how it compares to Golden Hour for me yet, but it’s certainly up there with it at least. From hearing the title track first, I did think it would be a lot more cinematic and dramatic, but I like that she hasn’t gone down that route just because of the subject matter. It’s almost refreshing to have a breakup album that’s so breezy and carefree in parts.
