February 18, 20214 yr Author RIGHT - I'm gonna ask this. I really really really like Bimini, I root for them to do well and I think they've been my winner like 3 weeks in a row. But, there's something stopping me LOVING them like a favourite. And I want to know what it is that really is tipping it for people. I think they're fantastic but kind of a little quiet, I don't feel like I spend a lot of time laughing at them out of drag/their talking heads for example. I'm waiting for something to click and for me to obsess over them but it's not happening the way it is for everyone else. :( I kinda felt the same about Crystal Methyd, maybe I just don't gravitate as immediately to personalities that aren't like BIG. For me that's the charm, they're just good vibes constantly. A big personality sometimes you can get *too* much from and they're always trying to say something or have an opinion, sometimes I get that from Lawrence or A'whora for example. Bimini takes their moment when it comes, and like Jack said they just radiate such a positive and likeable aura, no matter what they're doing. It took a few weeks but they're absolutely running away with this for me.
February 18, 20214 yr I get that. Interestingly, going off what you’re saying, my favourites are Lawrence and A’Whora so I guess that’s just the kind of personality that hits me best on Reality TV!
February 18, 20214 yr A'Whora has had the biggest growth, initially I couldn't stand but I see she was just insecure and she has grown on me each episode! Her fashion is amongst the best on the show too.
February 18, 20214 yr Author Also I think with a personalty like Bimini's, I tend to appreciate the big moments such as this Snatch Game home run more, because when they get their moment to shine they really seize it! When someone is always on 100, you miss that light and shade a bit. Bimini I feel is coming across as the most versatile but we've seen the fashion and performance, plus now the comedy and they're just SO likeable. A'whora the queen of development though, we love to see it. Hoping she has the next win as it's a design challenge!

Like you say she takes her moment when it comes and she doesn't just insert herself for a quick laugh. Her non-binary talk with Ginny really got the ball rolling for me too. She came across great there and I've just been wanting more airtime from her since. gah I've even started to grow to like A'Whora like others have said. Vulnerability is such a selling point for me. February 18, 20214 yr I actually found this episode quite frustrating. Bimini and Ellie won snatch game for me but I think overall it was a weak snatch game compared to last year. I agree with the Bimini win but did wonder why she wasn’t critiqued for a runway that had to be explained AWhora, Tayce and Sister gave ok performances but I didn’t laugh at any of them Tia and Lawrence were awful. I was not surprised about Lawrence - maybe it shows that she only has one style of comedy (as good as that might be) I also thought it was quite a weak lip sync - so maybe Lawrence would be in trouble if she fell into the bottom 2 again
February 19, 20214 yr Yeah the reason Lawrence is slipping down in my rankings is the fact that he came in SO strong and unless you manage to stay at the top the ENTIRE time there's no way to go but down. Bimini started poorly and slowly but surely has been proving she's a true force in this game. Every episode just reveals a new layer which I never knew was there and it's a fantastic journey to witness. Bimini really did not spend 7 months of corona time doing nothing, she came back to SLAY *.*
February 19, 20214 yr Gah Tia's runway was a step up but it was like from Z to Y. What was that janky silhouette?? Tatianna S2 vibes. Bimini was my everything this episode. Where do I get her werkroom outfit?? Lawrence was both disappointing & weirdly edited this episode. Like she was very self-producing her storyline but in an obvious way that was a bit offputting. Show don't tell pls. The crying from everyone was also v strange & felt to me like perhaps they were upset bc of lockdown but for some reason that was edited out???
February 19, 20214 yr Bitter we didn’t get a Jessie Ware lipsync It also really annoys me that they’re incapable of using a song that wasn’t successful in America and how much Ru had to be told what the references were in Snatch Game- every song this season has been big in America as well as the U.K. to ensure Ru knew it and I’d so much rather we had an actual British queen as the host as Ru just seems so out of touch with it all Well tbh not everyone understands all the British jokes including myself, so as much as it might be annoying to you it's good and helpful for some of us outside of the UK. Drag Race have become a big franchise and I am sure there are plans to broadcast UK franchise internationally sooner than later, and maybe for that reasons Ru might stick hosting UK for a bit little longer!!!
February 19, 20214 yr Also of course the Sister Sister of S1 (Crystal) is trying to police opinions on Drag Race. It's so tiring that you can't even seem to offer some sort of criticism on a reality show you watch and feel passionate about, unless it's positive. It's tiring. I think people should definitely be allowed to voice critisim, but the general fanbase of Drag Race can be so toxic and cruel, we have seen it so many times now and I think it's good other queens are speaking out about it. Sister Sister is getting a lot of (unfair) hate and no-one deserves that.

I totally understand this- I just think the British culture of it all is being watered down to appeal to Ru. Canada worked great and I didn’t understand a lot of the references, I didn’t know some of the lipsyncs, some of the Snatch Game characters, know what some of the challenges alluded to, but it was great anyway and didn’t feel like it was being held back in Canadian-ness to make it easier for someone not from there- it was a celebration of Canadian culture Not that DRUK isn’t celebratory- I just do think that it is often watered down to make it easier for Ru

Sister Sister is getting a lot of (unfair) hate and no-one deserves that. A lot of it is just criticism and Crystal is so guilty of telling people how to act. In my opinion, telling people their just criticisms and opinions are invalid on a show they feel passionate about and to go on to call them a bully etc is just as bad and v policing opinions. I agree some of it obviously goes too far like people DMing queens family, death threats, @ing them directly. But to offer criticism and share opinions on a show should be perfectly valid.
February 19, 20214 yr 100% with Jack's post above. You choose to become a public figure for your own enrichment, you have to take the good with the bad of that. People will always have an opinion and you are going on a tv competition where by its very nature you will be judged at how you do and how you work with others. You can't then turn around and act surprised. Does anyone know how many episodes we have left, on another note? 3 and a final?
February 19, 20214 yr Sister fucking Sister surviving again? you have to laugh. Why do you have to laugh when they provided a snatch game that was better than a couple of the others? I saw someone elsewhere say ‘correct bottom two’ but also ‘shocked when Ellie and SS were announced safe’. I can’t get my head around that... if they did enough for safety then why is it shocking or laughable?
February 19, 20214 yr As for the Sister Sister tweets, I understand people having opinions (even though it’s wild to me seeing people say ‘why is she still on my screen.?.?’ on weeks where she was absolutely nowhere near the worst) and it is perfectly valid for her to be your least favourite remaining queen. She is mine. But I cannot get my head around watching 70 minutes of glorious joyful telly and your first thought is to tweet negative things about the queen you hate? You didn’t come away from that amazing television with positive things to say!? It’s just all so negative and mean spirited for that to be your takeaway and tweet of choice.

This is my thoughts exactly, I'm not a huge Sister Sister fan but I see no need to say shit about her on twitter etc, I'd rather give the queen's that I love praise and tbh she's nowhere near as bad as they are making out, I actually laughed out loud once or twice at her Sally Morgan on this week's episode. Granted she'd rank last for me out of those remaining but every queen who makes it on the show have something.

Agree with this, I think it says a lot about people if the best they can come up with is just negativity when you have just had a joyous TV episode that is supposed to be a beacon to us in times where we don't have a lot. Kind of related to this point, I'm fed up with people who turn the entire discourse after a Season 13 episode to "UK is SOOOO much better, this is such an awul chore" as if they're being forced to watch it. Of course we are all going to have opinions and they don't have to be positive if you didn't enjoy an episode or didn't agree with judging etc. but it's how it's said for me, you can bring a lot more to the table than simply raging that x or y is still there as a lot of fans often do. I do get frustrated at Sister still being there but Ru can't go "you've been mediocre instead of bad, sashay away" to be fair  It's easy to get caught up after an episode when you're annoyed at someone you like going though.
