February 18, 20214 yr It's been a while since The Beatles last had a hit :( They should update their style and get Ringo to do a grime beat.
February 19, 20214 yr When happen freezing monkeys ak artic monkeys there had few number 1 They actually have to release something  If their new music is a more commercial sound, I can see them getting a top 10 single.
February 19, 20214 yr Streaming has been really good for Arctic Monkeys! The new sound was the issue for people with the last album but AM and WPSIATWIN are constantly hovering in the top 50 albums and I doubt it’s physicals only keeping them afloat.
February 19, 20214 yr 'AM' is Top 20 on streaming! I can definitely see them getting a hit with their next release if it's more commercial. I mean, even their last album opened with 18k streams which, to put into context, was slightly more than what Ariana's album that year did.
February 19, 20214 yr the last Arctics album did very well despite them going the uncommercial route, if they had released AM part 2 the sales would have been gigantic they are also lucky that a few of their songs have become TikTok staples that's why they're charting at the moment, it's cos of TikTok and funnily it's Miley's cover of Why You'd Only Call Me that's a TikTok but her cover is not available so people are streaming the original
February 19, 20214 yr They were never going to release AM part 2, so it will be interesting to see what their next sound will be like - I reckon it'll be something quite funky.

February 19, 20214 yr I know by why not? album 5 changed sound but for the first records they did stick to their formula It was 5 years later, I think it would've been weird to tread the same sounds as they did in 2013. Especially with The Last Shadow Puppets' second album inbetween. And I'd argue that they didn't "stick to their formula" for the first albums, perhaps the first two - but Humbug and Suck It And See are quite different to the others.
February 19, 20214 yr 1st and 2nd albums were clones, 3rd and 4th too but not as good material but they were hardly doing a Radiohead with each album release, more like sticking to the winning formula
February 19, 20214 yr What happen hard-fi It started going downhill for them when they collaborated with the Cheeky Girls :(
February 19, 20214 yr Hard-Fi haven't released anything in literally a decade  (Though seemingly have never officially broken up)
February 20, 20214 yr Sia had a big comeback during the streaming era. And didn't Derulo just have a #1 hit after being away for a while. These comebacks are anomalies anyway, they might happen but are very unlikely in general. Sia’s a unique case. Very few people will remember her for a fluke #10 hit in 2000. Plus, it’s not like she’s been lighting the charts up recently Jason Derulo is barely 30 and got very lucky to hop on a Tik Tok trend. Maybe when he has a solo #1 The average age on the charts is much, much lower now than it was 20, 30 years ago
February 20, 20214 yr Jason Derulo is barely 30 and got very lucky to hop on a Tik Tok trend. Maybe when he has a solo #1 Would be a fair point to make if that was the only hit he's had recently, but he's had another fairly big hit since then that wasn't just hopping on a TikTok trend and a couple of other minor hits too.

I'd say Breathe Me was also bigger than her #10 hit Taken for Granted.
