36. Doves - There Goes The Fear 228pts

Writers - Jez Williams, Jimi Goodwin, Andy Williams

Top points - RabbitFurCoat 25, King Rollo 25, coi 23

From 2002, this was one of two top 10 hits for the Manchester group. It was released and deleted on the same day. This radio edit sounds a bit rushed at the end. The seven minute album version is definitely the one to listen to.

Results going well at this stage, only lost three songs so far (Move being the latest) and none of them were in my top ten.

...well they were, at least. I wasn't expecting There Goes The Fear to make it through to be fair but it's a great song!

35. Madonna - Cherish 230pts

From 1989, this was the third single to be released from the Like A Prayer album. Madonna still has one song left in this semi-final.

'Move' is Little Mix's best song, quite disappointed to see it not getting through here.
Carnage - Doves and Celine both gone! Pretty disappointed, that's at least half of my 20+ pointers gone

Not a big fan of 'Move'.

'Cherish', however, is an absolute gem from one of the best albums of all time

'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' is easily my favourite Celine Dion song, love the dramatic production - Jim Steinman at his best!

These results are quite bizarre for BJ

32. Nightcrawlers - Push The Feeling On 236pts

Writers - Ross Campbell, John Reid, Hugh Brankin, Graham Wilson

Top points - Jester 25, Jason 21, danG 21

This is the third version of the Push The Feeling On. The original version only got to number 86 in 1992 while a remix reached number 22 in 1994. The following year, it was this 'MK Dub Revisited Edit' that pushed the song into the upper reaches of the chart. Nightcrawlers had two more top 20 hits while their main man John Reid has gone on to write no.1 singles for Westlife (Unbreakable) and Leona Lewis (A Moment Like this). Push The Feeling On wins a tie-break over Disturbia by 22 votes to 21.

I choose to believe Nightcrawlers would have qualified if people weren't put off by the awful remake of it in the current top 10 x

Surprising again to see 'Disturbia' not making it although I could never get into that song, always found it to be one of the weakest of Rihanna's big pop hits, so not complaining.

ResuRection was a reworking of Eduard Artemiev's theme from the 1979 Soviet film 'Siberiade'. The Russian trance group had one more top 40 hit.

30. Savage Garden - To The Moon And Back 241pts

Writers - Darren Hayes, Daniel Jones

Top points - Mango 23, West 21, Nick F1 21

This only got to number 55 in 1997 but it was remixed and re-released the following year after the success of Truly Madly Deeply. I'm not sure if this is the right version. Three videos were made for the song and this one has far more youtube views than the other two.

Bloody hell. Not much left to vote for in the final from this half of the semis!
