I think the issue is that they thought Boyz was the single that would pretty much kick-start the campaign and keep the buzz going for the other singles - of course, then the drama happened and Boyz died a quick death on the charts instead of staying on it for months. Now she pretty has to start over and find that one song that can kick-start her campaign, but it also means as you said that she's losing her head-start on the other girls. Jade's release sounds like it's just around the corner and there's just no way radio is going to support four solo careers from Little Mix. If we're lucky they'll end up supporting two in the long term (if even that, generally band members going solo have a lousy track record of getting support, especially for girl groups).

 

I think the funny thing is she really could've turned it around once Jingle Bell Ball went viral.

 

Get the shoulder dance into an ad campaign, or release some merch, or even do a TikTok video to the footage. That would really show you being able to laugh at yourself and leaning into it.

Instead she totally ignored it and blocked people who brought it up and accused people that discovered her through that and had a laugh as being bullies. Just stupid.

I feel for Jesy. She is funny but obviously so much of her shine got dulled by people's comments over the years. Her leaning into these things in the way Geri Halliwell would've turned it into a full ass campaign.

 

I think she's worried about embarrassing herself which I mean...it's always going to happen but it's up to you how you react. You can shy away from it or you can be...Jade.

I hope she shows how big her voice can be too. The baby voice thing ain't it.

Weird saying that stuff when you’re always in the threads :kink: Especially when the people saying this will be the first people to check out her new music.

 

It’s fine you don’t like her but the trolling is a bit much, let the people who do ‘care’ have a place they can post/discuss without childish comments like ‘nobody cares’ despite constantly checking on her.

 

Unless you’d like people who dislike your faves to go into those threads and derail them to? Show some basic levels of respect and decency instead of constantly coming here with rude remarks to derail the thread.

I think it’s probably more the fact that every social media post gets posted here, which considering the majority show her at her blackfishing best, rubs people up the wrong way. I’ll defo be here to discuss her new music objectively so I’d consider myself one of the people you’re referring to but I can also completely get the ‘who cares’ sentiment.

I agree with this. Not every Instagram post she makes is about music but it does feature her blackfishing to some extent and just showing a general lack of education/awareness etc which at this point is just embarrassing - it really does feel like she, and her fans, are just trying to rub it in people's faces and then pulling out "well don't speak about it!!" cards when faced with a retaliation from other people who are rightfully calling it out.

 

Although "nobody cares" isn't exactly the biggest discussion point, it does have weight considering that indeed, nobody cares about Jesy's music/career at this point (bar a few die hard fans which I still don't understand). Posting in a thread does not mean caring fyi, most of us are here to see the mess that follows.

She just posted on Instagram stories saying her album is complete, and that there are things she's written there which she's never really spoken about.

OK just release the album already!
