Lots of 10s and 11s given to Whatever and Silence (eleven combined to each!) They were both 8.5s for me, the first is an essential non-album single, and the second is the best definition of "euphoric" in the final for me!

Sad and surprised Silence barely made the top 40. I guess an effect of the different scoring system in the final? More weighted towards songs everyone quite likes than songs that are some people's absolute favourites?

Named after Marvin the Paranoid Android from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, this is Radiohead's highest charting single. The first version was over 14 minutes long but the song was cut down to six and a half minutes after a long Hammond organ outro was taken out.

Two of my 10s out there, again glad they managed to get as high as that! everything i wanted and Paranoid Android both brilliant
The number of 10s and 11s for Paranoid Android! Definitely one of the victims of the different scoring system
'Whatever' is my favourite song to drop out so far I think. Didn't deserve to miss the Top 40 :(

From 2003, this was one of just two top 40 singles for the Danish duo. They split up five years later.

I'm not a fan of Move Your Feet.

Maybe Adelita is right and it's a childish song. I prefer Baby Shark tbh.

This is the first of the sixteen finalists from the 60s to the 80s to appear. Produced by Nile Rodgers, it was Madonna's first top 5 single.

I'm not a fan of Move Your Feet.

Maybe Adelita is right and it's a childish song. I prefer Baby Shark tbh.

Other way round, Adelita said it's explicitly not a childish song xx

#35 is far too low for 'Move Your Feet' - although if this thread is saying it's about as popular on BuzzJack as 'Euphoria' is right now then that makes it sound a bit better :basil:

Most of the dropouts I’ve either not been fussed about or I do really like them but think their place seems justified when there are so many classics in the field.

I would have liked Move Your Feet to be higher though - it’s a magical little composition.

I don’t think Like a Virgin is a 1/10 by the way - I was just ruthlessly spreading out the scores from -1 to 11!

Speaking as a huge Madonna fan, 'Like A Virgin' is her one big hit that I've never had much love for. I don't know what it is about it but I'm just not fussed about it at all.

'Move Your Feet' deserved much higher. I don't understand those people who are calling it a childish song
