Ben Folds Five - Brick | ...ready for it

Eminem - Not Afraid | Mack.

Eminem (feat. Joyner Lucas) - Lucky You | PeteFromLeeds

Jona Lewie - Stop The Cavalry | garyfeld

Rolling Stones - Winter | vibe

Stormzy - Still Disappointed | awardinary

Wombats - Moving To New York | rio309

I had this as a potential Pointless question, but using it here saves me the trouble of defining what constitutes a non-Christmas song, so Joni Mitchell’s River scores a point whichever way you see it. The top answer must surely be considered Blink 182’s defining song over their #2 at this point. Amongst a handful of others, Taylor and Little Mix score some of us more points.

It took me ages to think of something for the rhyming one then 'Da Funk' popped into my head finally, glad others put it *.*

I literally talked about 'I Miss You' in a countdown I'm doing elsewhere on the forum last week and didn't get that  yay for others putting 'Move' at least.

oh was expecting more people to put River

Q10. Other than Post Malone, an artist / group whose name is the same as someone else's song title

Tim McGraw [Taylor Swift] | Riser

Not sure if I correctly assumed more people would remember Sam Feldt than the Charlie and Meghan song which narrowly gets top marks here. A few other good answers about, but only three more score points: I combined the various Rihanna songs titles as I was only looking for the artist.

Ah I was going to go with Rihanna but didn't think it fit as had "Walks Like" before the name. Should have just gone with it!! Didn't realise Yxng Bane had a song out called Rihanna.
I almost went with Marvin Gaye but thought more people would go with The Cure with it being more recent! Duh!

Q6. A song which has been "overplayed" according to many

Wham! - Last Christmas | JulianT

Another question where the correctness was open to interpretation. For once I called this right, albeit with one of my favourite songs of the decade, which I’d certainly agree has had more than its share of heavy rotation on Spotify by now. Although I can’t remember the last time I heard it on the radio, aside from that remix which Heart sometimes play, whereas I can hardly switch on that station without hearing Shape Of You. The much loved Blinding Lights brought up second place here.

Halfway through Q1-Q12, I’ve revealed the answers to:

Q3, Q4, Q6, Q7, Q9, Q10

so still to come are:

Q1, Q2, Q5, Q8, Q11, Q12

Balls!! Was thinking Blinding Lights but a lot of people including me still really like it.

Thought Dance Monkey would pick up some points :(

So I have 3 x top answers and 3 x 0 points :lulu2:

Yes I swerved this for the same reason :( "overplayed" has negative connotations for me and it was voted BuzzJack's favourite #1 of 2020. Ah well!

I was thinking because of the whole Whamageddon thing that people might go for that - maybe if the quiz had been in December!
I'm happy I've got 3 top answers so far - I'm hoping it's all I'll need for that leaderboard win!

Q5. A song which, despite being a big hit, was not playlisted by Radio 1

Answers given 12 | Scoring 5 | Top score 7

7 points

Maroon 5 (feat. Christina Aguilera) - Moves Like Jagger | dan::G, Mango, Riser, Bjork, West, coi, Jade, Bré

2 points

Frankie Goes To Hollywood - Relax | Ansel, JulianT, garyfeld

LadBaby - Don't Stop Me Eatin' | PeteFromLeeds, King Rollo, awardinary

Lady Gaga & Bradley Cooper - Shallow | jimwatts, vibe, n4yr

Robbie Williams - Candy | rio309, ...ready for it, LewisGT

0 points

6ix9ine - Gooba | chrissmith276

Alexandra Burke (feat. Laza Morgan) - Start Without You | Mack.

Cardi B (feat. Megan Thee Stallion) - WAP | Dobbo

LadBaby - We Built This City | Kath

Lewis Capaldi - Bruises | LiamSime

Sex Pistols - God Save The Queen | xajnipi

Shakira (feat. Wyclef Jean) - Hips Don't Lie | paulgilb

Moves Like Jagger got off to a slow start as it was only used once in the first 11 entries, but rallied from there. The other scorers are all with two points, ranging from the legendarily banned Relax to the, er, sublimeness of the last LadBaby offering. Of the nul pointers, I think WAP and Bruises were actually playlisted.

Edited by jimwatts

Bruises was a complete guess for me 😂 I’ve only really listened to radio 1 properly for the past year or so, so I didn’t have a clue for this one!
