April 27, 20214 yr Author Thought I'd get this up given that Euros discussion seems to be on the up again! What are people most looking forward to this time around?
April 27, 20214 yr I'll just be looking forward to loads of football. Personally, I reckon the overall quality of the tournament is going to be really low. Players are goosed from the season and I think it will show in the summer. That said, the tournament looks wide open this year. Italy are my bets but I genuinely think it could be a surprise this summer.
April 27, 20214 yr Yeh not sure how this will end up would be nice to see Portugal retain their title they’ve held for an unprecedented 5 years as they’ve got loads of great players coming through at the moment alongside established talents! Of course then there’s Ronaldo!!
April 28, 20214 yr Italy, Spain, or England are my picks in that order. I keep imagining an Italy vs. Spain final. Denmark (1992's 'Hans Christian Fairytale' Re-visited?) or Turkey would be my picks for Darkhorses. Edited April 28, 20214 yr by DJHazey
May 3, 20214 yr Odds: (Paddy Power) England 9-2f France 11-2 Belgium 6-1 Spain 7-1 Germany 15-2 Portugal 15-2 Italy 9-1 Netherlands 10-1 Denmark 25-1 Croatia 25-1 Switzerland 60-1 Turkey 60-1 Poland 60-1 Sweden 75-1 Russia 75-1 Austria 90-1 Czech Republic 100-1 Ukraine 100-1 Wales 150-1 Scotland 200-1 Finland 250-1 Hungary 250-1 Slovakia 250-1 North Macedonia 400-1
May 3, 20214 yr How on earth are England favourites when France are the world champions and Portugal are the holders and won the nations league recently??
May 4, 20214 yr Literally the only reason I can think of is cos the Semis and Final are played in England if we even get there. Didn't help back in '96 mind! We don't have the defence to win it.
May 4, 20214 yr Yeh true can’t see England winning but would like them to make theSemi final as I like Southgate as a person
May 4, 20214 yr Those odds are based on punters etc. - there is no standout team. I don't think England will win for what it's worth, whilst our attack is excellent, our backline is crap. I think if we play the likes of Belgium/Germany/Portugal, no matter how good or bad they may be their overall individual quality will shine through much more than ours.
May 4, 20214 yr How on earth are England favourites when France are the world champions and Portugal are the holders and won the nations league recently?? Wishful thinking punters
May 5, 20214 yr England would do well to get to the semi finals, Belgium would be my pick if they work together well as a unit. I think France will have run out of steam after how the past 2 major international tournaments have gone for them.
May 9, 20214 yr Euro 2020 Referees Felix Brych (Germany) Cüneyt Çakır (Turkey) Carlos Del Cerro Grande (Spain) Andreas Ekberg (Sweden) Orel Grinfeeld (Israel) Ovidiu Alin Hategan (Romania) Sergei Karasev (Russia) Istvan Kovacs (Romania) Bjorn Kuipers (Netherlands) Danny Makkelie (Netherlands) Antonio Miguel Mateu Lahoz (Spain) Michael Oliver (England) Daniele Orsato (Italy) Artur Manuel Ribeiro Soares Dias (Portugal) Daniel Siebert (Germany) Anthony Taylor (England) Clément Turpin (France) Slavko Vinčić (Slovenia)
May 9, 20214 yr England are likely to have 6 of 7 games at their home stadium to win it, it is essentially a home tournament for them and hosts always have shorter odds. I don't think there is a really obvious favourite, and will be a difficult tournament to judge based on a tougher than normal season for the players.
May 17, 20214 yr And I still have no clue whether I'm going or not  I think they let us know soon(ish) - depends whether we're lucky enough in the ballot draw now, might be slightly harder if you have an England game!
