It's great to finally have a new Sugababes release :cheeseblock:

I really rate this remix

It's a vibe :music: It brings a classic bang up to date. MNEK's new section fits in nicely!

I’ve heard this new remix once and I’m not sold yet. I’ll have to give it a few more listens.

I love the original though!

This is now in their top 10 most popular songs on Spotify, pretty good result for a buzz remix of a song that's mostly known by their fanbase.

That's great! It had slightly under 15k on the first day of release and is now at 114 027 listens. So in six days the average is about ~19k daily.

I'm glad it's doing better on Spotify than YouTube where it's got 7k.

Pleased to see it up onto their top 10! Nice to see how many playlists it has been added to as well. Its heartening to see the big support this is getting. Bodes well for actual new material.

And its already been played on R1!

I absolutely love this remix! MNEK has a great ear for music as I could definitely envision him singing the full song himself and releasing it as his own. I also like how fresh this remix sounds whilst still containing what was so special about the original.
I also really love the cover, they haven’t changed much (apart from Mutya’s plastic surgery)
It seems like it's consistently getting around 20k per day (it's at 154k now), which I think is decent for a random remix of a 20 year old track.

The remix has been included in a couple of Spotify playlists: New Dance Revolution, The Bop List, apart from Sugababes' and MNEK's "This is" playlists, so hopefully it will make some decent numbers in the run towards the album release.

It also made New Music Friday!!

Whit has had some great pull to get a remix of a near 21 year old track onto so many playlists. Bodes well for new music. Feels like some of this is testing the release strategy And distribution methods and their pulling power with folks like Spotify on playlisting ahead of new material

This entire re-release is definitively a way for them to gauge the market and see what sort of demand there is. I imagine that seeing how the One Touch formats do will heavily affect what sort of formats their new stuff will have.

Yeah I very much agree. This has a very trial run feel to it.

Major kudos to Whitney for the work on this. There was a concern that she was only working with them on Flowers because of the label but to see her still pulling the strings for this too is very reassuring

I adore this, was never a fan of the original but it has that sorta.. harrowing emptiness to it which compliments the song's original meaning of escapism, I think MNEK's middle section with his distorted vocals throws off the flow a bit, if he was going to vocally contribute I would've preferred him just to sing it normally, but overall I enjoy this a lot.

Makes it slightly fresher I guess, but I agree not sure why he felt the need.

Yeah. I am really enjoying the remix and his vocals on the chorus are perfectly dialled in with what he's done to the track but I agree his verse is a bit jarring, at least initially. Im used to it now and quite like what he adds to the track verse wise, although I think it could be a little more blended with a slightly different treatment.
I actually thought MNEK’s vocal input was a natural fit! It helps that he ad-libs throughout but even so the whole remix feels so recognisably his style that it doesn’t feel jarring to me when his verse comes in.
