I don’t think he’s doing a line of coke there unless the coke is floating in mid-air.

Obviously a shame for James but not a huge surprise and softened by the hilarious quartet of nul pointers on the televote  why Germany and Spain ever thought those songs would be a good idea is beyond me. Netherlands did deserve some though.

Germany's entry lyrically did have a good message behind it but musically the song did remind me of Scooch, which isn't a bad thing but obviously not likely to be something that does well at Eurovision.

Ukraine completed all of their unique Top 7 finishes now after this year. WE LOVE TO SEE IT!

It IS a bad thing, trust me :P

SO SO happy for Maneskin!! My winners won, and they absolutely killed it. I didn't doubt they could do it but that was a nerve wracking couple of hours

I was so nervous for them I couldn't process that WILD voting but what stuck out to me was poor Destiny! To have killed it the way she did, won the semi, then chucked in 6th and tanked the televote. Also Senhit I was surprised at, I did think she was being overrated by predictions (if you about a lot of Europe, a random person in say Albania isn't going to care about Flo Rida) but I didn't think by that much! All those televote 0s as well!!

Not surprsed at all at us getting 0, it SCREAMED last place to me. A really safe and basic song that was really never go to set anyone's affections alight. I cba with any of this "it's all political" discourse from casuals, how can anyone expect that song to do well? I expect a lot of people didn't mind it but if you're people's like 17th fave, that won't do anything!

omg it just keeps going

Ok I will stop Moomintrolling now.

No, he's right, it is common in Spain and Italy to hoover up broken glass with your nose! It clearly wasn't drugs, no.
Poor winner in my opinion. Ukraine coming top 5 made my night - best song in the competition for so many reasons. Poor James but let’s be honest, the song was dire, he is as rigid as a piece of wood and his outfit was just embarrassing- whoever approved that coat and that gold chain needs the sack!

Didn't think you would be such a fan of such a heavy rock winner!

As for Destiny the song was good but maybe a bit too generic pop perhaps maybe that's why she didn't do so well in the jury vote?

:cheer: Great to see Italy as the winners and impressed by Finland finishing 6th too, love to see rock entries doing well! Ukraine was my fave so I'm happy to see that land 5th place (and 2nd from the public vote!) too.

I do think the UK deserved a little bit better than zero points but the fact that the entire bottom four were nations that automatically qualified to the final says a lot (even more interesting when the other two finished as the top two!). Moldova finished way too high though and poor San Marino and Norway deserved better.

I agree about James.

Why? I love rock music.

She did wlel in tthe jury vote lmao

I mean, I choose to believe that version, it looks a lot more natural from that angle.

but people will quote tweet that shot of him acting suspicious about it in the press conference and then forget about it

Like said before somewhere on the forum, Malta was two years late with Je me casse. It could've resonated in 2018 (when Netta won) or 2019, but the feminist anthems have moved on to be a bit more diverse.

Random bits of trivia

Best French result since 1991

Best Swiss result since 1993

Best Finnish result since their win in 2006

All very much deserved, I hope Finland takes the message that they have been, deservingly, TYPECAST *.*

(their interim best placer was Softengine, also hard rock though not quite to either the extent of Lordi or Blind Channel)
