I know Thursday's streams aren't taken into account re the singles chart, but does anyone know if they contribute towards the total sales of a song - for example when we stream Wannabe on Thursday?
Wait I thought the EP comes out on Friday?!

Nope Thursday streams don't count for that either. The predicted streams for that day are counted towards the singles chart and the total!

It does! The UK Official Charts Company doesn't use any streaming data on Thursday, so none of our streams of Wannabe on Thurs 15th July will count to that chart week. Only Fri 9th to Wed 14th. It's because apparently they don't receive the data in time, so they essentially estimate it.

By the way, Emma mentioned the Wannabe 25 EP once during the show, but it amused me because it was along the lines of: "It includes a new remix, which is exciting"... sigh! It's a common old remix from 1996, Emma x

*facepalm* Oh Emma ...

To be honest, good on Junior Vasquez for churning out a remix that's STILL being pressed 25 years later!

Aside from that one, if I am correct, I think the "newest" official remix of Wannabe is the set that the Soul Seekerz pushed out in 2007?

I think you're right! A pity new remixes weren't commissioned this year too. There's so many great modern producers that could have done something with it.
It's all about Feed Your Love. Would be awesome if it charted in the top 75. Feed Your Love could open the door for a 4th Spice Girls album if the song is well received. It would be a no brainer for the girls to do what Dua Lipa did with her last album, but with a 90's throwback vibe instead of 80's.
Ya if it charted it would possibly help them take a step closer to recording a fourth album but im not in any confident it will ever happen.

Yes to 90s throwback sound with updated/modern productions. I think Dua and Little Mix have been great at establishing a base around those types of sounds and Spices should totally tap into that too! I would LOVE if the Spices worked with people like Dev Haynes and MNEK

As much as I would love Feed Your Love, I'm not sure it will get in the charts at all. It might show up on the iTunes chart but I think that will be more of the EP showing up as a whole rather than FYL individually?...

I’m so excited to hear Feed Your Love and hopefully other demos. Their old stuff had that Spice magic that no other girlband will ever have. Even their b-sides were great (Outer Space Girls and Walk Of Life screamed album tracks). I’m personally not interested in new music (especially without Victoria), but I think it’s time for them to share their “lost” catalogue: remixes, demos, unreleased, covers, duets and alternative versions of their hits.

My Spotify needs them all!

I mean feed your love has no chance of charting unless the label pay for it to be on some big play lists.

The EP downloaded as a whole will count as 1 sale for Wannabe. It would only be individual downloads of Feed your love and streams of it that will count towards its own sales.

The label should invest in Feed Your Love as it is the ideal opportunity to test the market.

The best. No Daily Mail-like newspaper writing about flop or stuff like that. This is a gift to us fans. As Geri would say “it’s not about me, it’s about you, us and everyone”. 🤣

Feed Your Love will absolutely not get a push, nor should it be seen as an opportunity for the Spice Girls to chart or break ground for new music.

It's a demo of an unfinished song that is not to be seen as a contemporary reflection of the Spice Girls but a little 'insight' into their past.

I mean I could maybe see it getting a spot on NMF play list and universal pushing it however they can.

Spotify asking which spice girl you are shows there is definitely some collusion between Spotify and the label.

Feed Your Love's streaming numbers will be a indicator if there is interest or not in new Spice Girls music. It will be the first song they release in the streaming era. The song is not being pushed as a single, but I'm sure the song will still get a decent amount of press this Friday.

It will be interesting to see how Feed Your Love does on streaming compared to Melanie C's last album.

Of course, it’s gonna do better. It’s The Spice Girls.

OT: still shocked about Blame It On Me (Acoustic) Spotify numbers. I hope Feed Your Love makes it to some great Playlists.

This was my point. If Feed Your Love doesn't match Melanie C's lackluster streaming numbers, then that is a sign people are not interested in new Spice Girls music.
