What dancinqueen is saying is that the Song for Her lyrics are cringe like the Half of Me lyrics!

This. The song has a good rhythm and I admit I almost cried when I heard Mel B singing after such a long time (I can’t help but loving her). The girls, if one day they’re ready to come back with a new single, they need a song at least as good as their album tracks. NGUOTGT, Last Time Lover, Love Thing and many more. Last but not least, they need to use the same vocal formula: Emma and Mel B lead, Geri and OBE Vicky B here and there in the chorus, and Mel C uplifting the song with some kick-ass ad-libs. And the lyrics, no Lady Of the Manner references; something empowering and unique like SUYL.

Anything else coming soon?!?!? I am having withdrawal symptoms from the Wannabe EP release already :P

ps. Song for Her was pish. If it was indeed for that awful tv show concept, then it sounded appropriate but I think of it on the same lines of Half of Me, Viva Life, etc... Just pure 'this will do ahah isnt this quirky?!'.... But im glad the whole thing was shelved because it sounded like just a really bad project overall...

I hope they surprise us with a Spice Expanded Edition release.

me toooooo :w00t:

At this stage, I would also be very happy with a Say You'll Be There EP too by the way. Just saying :teresa:

Viva Life is evil.

I also need more. I’m sure I’ll be ok when I get my vinyl but I want more content 😂

No plans for a SYBT release as far as I'm aware. Last I heard they were going to release a video for Feed your love the day the physical Wannabe25 drops but who knows if they will bother. Fans haven't exactly got behind it.

What do you mean 'havent exactly got behind it'?

They were truly lost without Geri. She took the Spice sound and put it in her solo albums instead.

For me personally I think some fans have been very dismissive of it.

Were they?.... I think the general response has been super positive....

Spice Circle will complain about anything. The main complaint I've heard is that the song is kind of like a solo Mel B song. Mel B has the least amount of solo material so I'm perfectly fine with her having most of the vocals on Feed Your Love. Not to mention Mel B sounds outstanding on the track. Her vocals are like butter.

Biff mentioned that if the song had been released back in the day he probably would have added some Mel C adlibs. Honestly, I don't really think the track is Melanie C's cup of tea. I'm not surprised she didn't record any solo lines for the demo. You can tell Mel B and Geri were the main songwriters of the song.

It's interesting listening to the demo of 2 Become 1 after Feed Your Love. The song is still great as a demo, but the final production touches really elevate the demo into the iconic song it is today. Who knows what final touches Biff would have done to Feed Your Love had it been released in 1996.

all of this!! However, I think Biff also said that they just did that take that same day, so I bet it's just what they recorded, and not a deliberate 'you wont sing any verses, only harmounies' type of affair.

Mel B leading is actually pretty good and common for Spice songs. Wannabe, Spice Up Your Life, Holler, etc she always sings a lot across the whole songs. I would say its between her and Emma the ones that sing the most across their catalogue, with Mel C obviously enhanced by the ad libs (although if we are counting ad libs, Emma wins purely just for If You Wanna Have Some Fun adlibs :teresa: )

The reaction was also mostly positive, I feel. Spice Circle isnt really the whole fandom and it is a very Mel C-gentric group. Also, I think a lot of people that reacted badly to the song mostly were complaining about the fact that it is unfinished and rough. Like, yes huns, that is what a demo is <_<

But I would say it was quite a positive experience overall :cheer:

Two points to that comment:

(A) Shame they won't continue with a '25' series of singles. Here's a no-brainer tracklist for SYBT that involves 5 minutes of thought:

1. Single Mix w/ Mel B's Full Rap

2. Spiceworld Remix

3. Junior's Main Pass (you know, because it's "in demand" and all). :teresa:

4. Likely Stories

(B) Not sure why they would bother pushing Feed Your Love with a video of all things. If they want us to react strongly, give us a 4th album of unreleased material. They can't expect fans to get behind things if they can't be arsed to acknowledge it much in the first place. However, I think most fans are happy with simply getting the track after all these years. At least it's one less track that the elite can complain-a-brag about having. #SueMe

Agreed! Mel B sounds beautiful on this song -- very reminiscent of Feel Me Now. Could you imagine Posh Geri's reaction to the lyrics today though!? :o

I also agree in that I don't think Feed Your Love is The Chizz' cup o' tea. However, the fact that she allowed that track to be released, says to me that we're going to get many more, especially as she's been the "b-sides are b-sides for a reason girl" circa 1999. I'm sure her vocals are going to be prominent on at least one of the forthcoming archived treats. Can't wait to hear more! MOAR! :w00t:

I assume the video would just be a bit of extra promo to get some buzz on vinyl/cassette release week.

Otherwise it's a couple of social media posts saying the physical is out. If fans share a video it might push a few more copies. I'm assuming that's the thinking.

I mean they need something physical release week, some way of getting some extra exposure and promo.

Ahhhhhhhhhh 😂 that was funny. Nice one.

Don’t do it again, you might start to believe it’s true.

I can't wait until November. I really want to hear Likely Stories. I imagine it's not as dirty as we think due to Feed Your Love not being as risque as it was rumored. I'm so happy Melanie C is now the "b-sides are lovely little demos" girl. I think the 2019 tour really changed things for Melanie. She's been 100% Spice Girls positive ever since.

She understood the Spice Girls reunions a good in terms of raising a bit her profile. She’s got better Spotify numbers, a top10 album and magazines are more into her as she tells about the group and people like to read that. I think it’s the right thing to do.
