We couldn’t let the 25th anniversary of ‘Spice’ pass by without a celebration. We LOVED listening to the old demos and reminiscing about the past, our time in the studio and the amazing memories we created. It was so hard to choose our final track listing for the deluxe but we are so happy and we hope you love it as much as we do. We wanted to say a huge thank you to you, our fans, for still being with us 25 years on, you truly are the best fans in the world and we love you all!

from the mailer

Well ladies, the track listing certainly could have been improved, but thank you anyway 😘

And as Geri says “it’s about you, them, everyone is welcome, Spice belongs to everyone”. So give us those rarities as they belong to us as well 😂

OK the CD and cassettes look great!! That's a really good design and lovely that we will get personal notes from the girls in them too

I feel like they should have had "Demo" in the Say You'll Be There tag, because people would be more forgiving of its quality (perhaps). 7" Radio Mix makes it come across like a main version.

I feel like they should have released the SPICEWORLD version of SYBT. Instead we get a watered down version of the album version.

Da fuk.

Oh yes! 😍 I wish we had that version now. Spiceworld Movie is another reason why the Morales remix of WDYTYA would have been a great inclusion too. (I think maybe Sideout mentioned that before now?).

I mean… I’m glad there was at least an attempt to make a bonus disc. It’s just a shame it leaves quite a lot to be desired. Give most fans just 5 minutes to sit down with Universal and the Spice Girls and they’d have had a really good idea about what we want, what we really really want 🤭

Exactly!

So the girls are ok with releasing demo, inferior versions of singles and album tracks. Yet, they put their foot down when it comes to unreleased songs. Make it make sense.

The Wannabe demo has proved no one is really interested in demo versions. If the Wannabe demo can only get 81,399 streams, I don't see any other demo doing any better.

With hindsight, maybe this would have been a better cover and logo  :teresa:

Will the demo song: Shall We Say Goodbye Then? possibly also be released separately on pay to download music websites such as: mp3million and zdigital?

AUD$56 for the 2 CD including international postage is a lot to pay, to listen to only 1 unheard song, that is less than 1 minute in duration.

The other previously unreleased demo songs can be listened to online for free.

^ Presumably it'll be available to download separately!

As well as that track, I've not heard the Who Do You Think You Are demo (if that already leaked, it totally passed me by) or the Love Thing remix.

I am still feeling let down by the track list, but it'll still be cool to hear those... and presumably Last Time Lover and If U Can't Dance demos will have been tidied up a bit like the Wannabe demo.

Amazon physical music chart:

#12 - CD

#14 - Zoetrope Vinyl [#2 in Vinyl chart]

#34 - Baby Vinyl [#7]

#35 - Sporty Vinyl [#8]

#37 - Posh Vinyl [#9]

#42 - Ginger Vinyl [#11]

#55 - Scary Vinyl [#14]

#197 - Wannabe 25 Vinyl [#83]

(they were all in higher positions earlier)

The above formats are also available on HMV, Recordstore, The Sound of Vinyl, obviously their official store. Does anyone know of any other stores they're available? It seems that the cassettes won't be available via HMV or Amazon.

Some of the items are also available via JB Hi-Fi: https://www.jbhifi.com.au/search?query=Spice%20Girls

That's actually not bad, right? And I am sure sales will accomulate from now till October 29th. They wont be Top5, but I would hope for a Top10 for sure with so many variants. Rake it in girlies!!

A shame that the Scary vinyl is the least purchased, but not surprising cos the UK aversion to anything to do with a woman of colour is very well documented. Just hope that Mel B doesnt see that!

I was actually thinking of getting the Mel B variant and this might just make me do that!

When it comes to formats, I wish their label was more focused on CDs. They're still the best selling physical format, they're relatively a lot easier to sell to casuals!

It's great that we have multiple versions of vinyl and cassettes, for super fan collectors like many of us, that is a dream. However I would imagine that casual fans might just settle for one copy of their favourite member. This is why I feel that Spice having only one fairly expensive option for the CD is an oversight. I feel like there should at least be a £10 version, something more compelling for a supermarket purchase or an impulsive online purchase.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they're holding other formats back for nearer the time, more CDs, but equally I won't be holding my breath lol.

I do think it's kind of interesting that the label really embraces vinyl formats when most of the previous releases haven't been huge sellers. In yesterday's midweeks, Wannabe 25 had sold 759 vinyl and 482 cassettes in the UK.

I'm sure Spice 25 is bound to sell considerably more vinyl and cassettes than that, but still, in my view the label is definitely restricting themselves from easier sales by treating CDs as the lesser format. Maybe Wannabe 25 would have actually re-entered the chart had there been a CD.

Side note: Steps/BMG have definitely got the memo that their fans like CDs. There's 8 different ones to choose from!

Definitely a shame that inevitably one of them has to be last, but hopefully Mel B's format is selling very strongly elsewhere!

It's a real shame, her cover looks the best out of them all too!

Yeah I was wondering if there is more to come. Definitely there will be more merch, I think. It seems they were caught off guard with the iTunes leadk so probably announced the more limited stuff first? Here's hoping...

Certainly a standard CD with a new cover AT LEAST would have been really good to get the album to sell up again in supermarkets and HMVs, etc. The casual buyers wont get it for the prices of the 2CD version, thats for sure...

And WOW what a shame that the Wannabe vinyl is selling so low... Really, thought that it would be at least over 1k sales at the bare minimum, but to be honest if I wasnt such a fan I wouldnt have bothered as £24 for a 4-track vinyl is terrible lol...

I hope the album gathers more sales than that, but now I am starting to worry ah

The only bundle I ordered is the scary spice one, that photo of Mel is absolutely stunning.
